With Talib Kweli 's Prisoner of Conscious dropping next week, the Brooklyn MC thought it would be a good time to remind his fans of how awesome he is. Spanning his entire career, Mick (formerly Mick Boogie) compiled 29 songs in total. The end result is a collection of tracks that are, for the most part, his best work to day. Prisoner of Conscious has yet to drop, so it is still up in the air whether or not many of those new cuts will one day end up landing on a list with these [...]
To the surprise of probably no one, The-Dream pushed back the release of his forthcoming album IV Play to May 28th. I won't believe the record exists until it leaks [...] The post The-Dream & Mick Boogie - Parental Advisory Mix appeared first on The Smoking Section .
![[RH Premiere] Naledge: “Life In A Corona” feat Mikkey Halsted](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4779147_lg.jpg)
"Had a couple tribulations, this my new beginning." About a month ago, I got an email from Naledge with a subject line, "Listen to this immediately. Want Thoughts." I've known Naledge longer than I can remember, and more than long enough to know that his best music usually comes to me via emails with subject titles just like that one. After listening to "Life In A Corona", which features smooth production from Thelonious Martin and a dope-as-usual verse from Mikkey Halsted, my only thoughts were that Naledge had found his zone. The record is introspective and thought-provoking, with [...]

I was first introduced to MaG 's music way back in 2009 when he released his first debut project I Ain't Going Back To Retail! Fast-forward to 2013 and MaG hit me up with his new project freedom. , hosted by Mick Boogie . Ironically, the track that closes out the album, "Paper Airplanes" , is actually the same track that started the album process and set the tone for the remaining 10 tracks. With production from Jesse Futerman from Toronto, Ta-Ku and [...]
![Slum Village x Mick Boogie “Dirty Slums 2″ [mixtape]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4747684_lg.jpg)
Veteran hip-hop group Slum Village have released their brand new commercial mixtape, Dirty Slums 2. The Mick Boogie-hosted, 15-track set, which is the Detroit trio's first release since 20102s Villa Manifesto, includes previously-featured records "Decadence" and "Riot." Guest features include Focus..., Guilty Simpson, Joe Scudda and Rapper Big Pooh among others, while YOUNG RJ handles the bulk of the production duties.

"Aim like Django, put a hole through your kangol." A lesson I learned early on is to really be careful how you treat people on the way up, because you never know who you're going to see on the way down. The sentiments are echoed on this sparse and reverb heavy record from Slum Village and their upcoming Dirty Slums 2. The new mixtape drops 1/29, presented once again by Mick Boogie.

New Slum Village is always welcome around these parts. Today we get a peek at what we'll be hearing on the soon to be released, Mick Boogie hosted, Dirty Slums 2 . Last year's release of SV's previous Dirty Slums mixtape was a huge comeback for the group with the new line-up, and it's nice to see that they're releasing more new material so soon. "Decadence" was produced by the group's newcomer, Young RJ, and features the always great, Guilty Simpson. The beat is the same style of the [...]

New single off Mick Boogie's latest All In: Notre Dame mixtape, "We Are Notre Dame" by Donwill & produced by nVME. I have a Notre Dame Starter jacket and that fact alone qualifies me to rap over a trapped out version of their Fight Song. Mick Boogie saw this picture and decided to let me hop on his latest mixtape alongside Big Pooh, Thurzday and a few other folk to show a bit of love to the Fighting Irish. Check the jam below.

Cleveland rep Chip Tha Ripper has long been one of the most slept on artists in hip-hop. His smooth delivery and genuinely positive vibrations always make for a great listening experience. On this cut, Taylor Gang producer Cardo sets the backdrop constructing his signature Kush&OJ-style chillwave sound. The Ohio spitter continues to evolve as he successfully experiments with different flows.
