There are plenty questionable things going on at the annual Afentra's VD Party at the Midland Theatre in Kansas City. While Middle Class Rut 's "Busy Bein' Born" is not what you'd normally expect from a band featured on Given and Taken in Ink , I was actually quite taken with this genre several years ago.  I've heard the band mentioned as part of a "90s comback," and although it's true that 2011 seems to mark the reintroduction of sounds we last heard in the 90s (and thank God we're moving away from that silly 80s fascination!), Middle Class Rut does not sound like a 90s band.  Rather, "Busy Bein' Born" strikes me as the continuation of a [...]
