Leftfield techno producer Midland has decided to break away from Aus , the label he has been so closely tied with, today. According to XLR8R , Graded will focus "on vinyl [releases] with full artwork sleeves, 180-gram pressings, and locked grooves," though a caveat has been included stating all releases will be available digitally. Great remix EP that just DROPPED from the main man Will Saul, under his other alias Close on K7!. The EP has a killer original and ace mixes from Dusky and Midland. But gotta say I love this one for different reasons, kinda just uses the vocal to full effect... almost like a vibe tool. No Kick... Just a sleazed out waling synths, and stripped out guitar plucks a la the xx with heavy spacey reverb. simple Wibezzzz.

Beam Me Up dropped last month featuring remixes from Scuba, George Fitzgerald and Hercules & Love Affair. Although most reviewers plummed for the Fitzgerald remix, personally we'd recommend Hercules analog powered acidic twist. We were getting our collars hot about low-key producer FTSE back in the day (ie last month), but the vowel-averse beat creator has genuinely surpassed all expectations with ‘CNT HLP MSLF’. It’s a grimy, pummelling off-centre beat that welcomes you into three and a half minutes of constantly changing electronica. Not only does the track collapse to reveal a tender vocal, but at one point FTSE somehow ends up borderline rapping over a rumbling bassline that isn’t millions of miles away from something that The Weeknd would be proud of.
