Upon hearing the first note of "Easy Way Out", the lead track to Austin's Midnight Ghost, the guitar playing somewhat reminded me a little of Real Estate and on the next few tracks "Time" and "Shone" a little bit Akron/Family with the vocal harmonies. Being that Real Estate and Akron/Family to be favorites of mine, I was instantly drawn in and loving what I was hearing. Thomas Ellington, otherwise known as Midnight Ghost is releasing his debut album on bandcamp for just $2 (which is a steal). From the opening jam Easy Way Out all the way to closing jump-around Pineapple Sunglasses this six track CD is solid.
