Posted in Play-This-List Something For The Weekend Andrew Wyatt is a name that may or may not be familiar to you. Miike Snow, that rings a bell right? Well then you actually do know Andrew Wyatt, one listen to the tracks below and you'd be hard pushed not to recognize that voice, even if it does sound a little bit darker. Wyatt [...]
ANDREW WYATT, frontman of Swedish indie pop band MIIKE SNOW, unveils a video clip to And Septimus... . The song, far from sounding like a MIIKE SNOW track, is taken from WYATT's debut solo album Descender that was released last month. It was recorded with the 75-headed Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and featuring guest appearances from Anthony Rossomando (THE The post Andrew Wyatt unveils new video "And Septimus..." appeared first on Nothing But Hope And Passion - NBHAP - Music Magazine & more .
Andrew Wyatt , who you may know more commonly as the lead in Miike Snow , has a lot going on these days. After giving festival goers a sneak peak into his solo work at Way Out West last year, he's released two lofty singles, "And Septimus..."/"Harlem Boyzz", given us the full digital and vinyl release of Descender and, just yesterday, put out a brand new, hilariously awkward video. Not to mention, he'll be performing at the Downtown Festival in New York this Friday alongside a full chamber orchestra! While the album [...]
Enigmatically gifted to make the ridiculous seem extremely achievable, Flight Facilities ’ work ethic of opposites-attracts and thoroughly thought out mix specials push this Caribbean-keeno duo onto the upper echelons of greatness and classic / present-day reminiscing of the utmost extremes. You have been warned. ‘I Didn’t Believe’ is out now on Glassnote Entertainment / Future Classic. UPCOMING TOUR DATES 11 May 2013 - Perth, The Bakery 17 May 2013 - North QLD, Base [...]
There really isn't anything RYAN HEMSWORTH can't do when it comes to producing. Whether it's his silky smooth originals, his ridiculous (also: mostly hilarious) remixes or in this instance, his mixtapes - you know you're in for a good time. As people are finally beginning to catch onto this, he's slowly beginning to get some bookings that he deserves. One of those bookings is New York City's Downtown Festival - unsurprisingly it's curated by the local label, Downtown Records . The festival itself takes its stripes from [...]
Frontman with Swedish pop heavyweights Miike Snow , Andrew Wyatt is set to release his debut solo album, Descender, through Downtown Records on 6 May. Ahead of its release, stream the album in full below - exclusively at The Line Of Best Fit. A richly orchestrated 30 minutes, Descender acts as the perfect showcase for Wyatt's octave defying vocals - a bold and immersive foray into chamber pop that's a world away from the electronic sheen and commercial viability of Miike Snow. Featuring guest [...]
With his first solo album, Descender, due out in a few weeks' time, Miike Snow-frontman Andrew Wyatt has shared a new track, in the form of the lush 'Harlem Boyzz'. While the strings and flutes of Prague's Philharmonic Orchestra soar overhead, Wyatt lends his falsetto vocals to tales of crackheads and McDonalds. He has previously said of the story behind the song, “My buddy, who is in a pretty well-known psych band, and me were deep into the usual early-in-your-success mistakes: self-googling, fast women, fast food.” Listen to 'Harlem Boyzz' here: [...]
Andrew Wyatt orchestrated a 75-piece orchestra for his solo debut and he puts it to use in the only way possible: with vigor.
Spring has sprung, and I for one am ecstatic. I'm ready to shed my coat in favor of tank tops, and don strappy sandals instead of boots. But for some, spring's arrival isn't as welcome. It signals our slow-but-steady entry into 100+ degree temperatureland, and even the promise of sno-cones and watering holes can't subside that fear. Alas, there are some songs that just put me in a happy mood, giving me that extra spring in my step, in more ways than one. (Forgive me, they can't all be winners). I've got an upbeat playlist that's sure to help you [...]

Miike Snow frontman, Andrew Wyatt has released a new documentary film to coincide with his debut solo LP. Descender will drop on 16 April, and will feature a 75-piece philharmonic orchestra, The Libertines / Dirty Pretty Things ’ Anthony Rossomando, Interpol ’s Brad Truax and Tortoise ’s John Herndon, but first it's preceded with the predictably-named 'The Making of Descender'. Before the album drops, you can watch the short (filmed with help from Vice) beneath: [...]
Andrew Wyatt , better known by fans as the leading man of Miike Snow , is releasing a new documentary to go alongside his upcoming solo LP Descender . Directed by Sebastian Mlynarski, the documentary takes a look at Wyatt's creative process for the album, his work in Miike Snow and with artists like Mark Ronson, and his distinct classic music composition training. The latter of which actually contributed to the Prague Philharmonic being featured on Descender . Also featured on the album, which is set for release May 6th from [...]
It's always magic in music when everything just seems to fit. The way the lyrics move through the melody to personify the words; the way the production works to emphasize the dissonance; the way the sound pulsates through your veins, into your bones to resonate in your gut before bursting through your every pore in dance. There aren't many tracks like that out there in the music sphere, but this one right here is a needle in a haystack. Miike Snow is already a gem of a band. Their tracks and sound aesthetic consistently impre ss me. I have [...]
OUT APRIL 16TH, DESCENDER FEATURES THE 75-PIECE PRAGUE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA Andrew Wyatt, better known to most as the front man of indie powerhouse electronic pop band Miike Snow, has announced his first solo project, Descender, slated for release on INGRID/Downtown Records on April 16th. Descender is a 32 minute meditation into the darker side of Andrew Wyatt not seen on his latest endeavors with Miike Snow. The introspection weaves amazingly intricate soundscapes and is explored with the use of Prague's Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Adam Klemens. The album also includes cameos from Anthony Rossomando of The Libertines, Brad [...]
Jordan Corey mashes up all of the emotions and beats of Rihanna's "Stay," and Miike Snow's "Animal."
