![[MUST HEAR] Miike Snow: Paddling Out (Penguin Prison Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4190785_lg.jpg)
Penguin Prison takes on Miike Snow and gives us his take on 'Paddling Out'. Penguin Prison overloads the original with more discoy goodness than Studio 54 would know what to do with. A deep beat, heavy drums, funky rhythm, bright echoey synths make this an unstoppable dance floor filler. Since I ended my first day of SXSW kind of early, I knew I had lost time to make up. You see, unless waiting on line to see people like Jack White, Grimes, or Fiona Apple is your forte, it's best to get to shows early or witness bands you're "heard of" but never actually "heard." Which is something I've said to people more than I care to admit. Wednesday was about catching bands that I've been meaning to see for quite some time now and I wasn't disappointed. Crooks [...]
![[QUICKIE] Miike Snow – HAPPY TO YOU (w/ "The Wave")](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4189274_lg.jpg)
you can hear them banging on the tin but my love wont be sane Ya'll know I LOVE Miike Snow. The Wave is Gold. Paddling Out too. But rest of album I have to agree more with AV Club & Pitchfork . Lacking. [Quickies are mini-reviews that can fit into a 140 character tweet. They are of albums that people already know of but perhaps are curious about our take on it. What did you think of the disc?] [...]
So this is a little late, I know. The internet situation for me has been a little all over the place lately - moved to a new spot and we're working out which net plan would be best! Anyway, this here is a bit of a mix of my fave tracks of March. It's a [...]

Destination: Charlotte, North Carolina ... Flight path: Jon Meneses aka Joneses. Putting together an undulating and shadowy dark & stagey anxiety; which crescendos into a xylophone pressure of black mini skirt sexiness and cooker pressure electrified-steam, up & comer Joneses eases this creation out from SBTRKT's Original skilfully. Emotionally stimulating and charged with inner tears and uplifting sadness, Joneses generates another production care of Crystal Castles' 'Violent Dreams.' Elated bliss has arrived in four interesting examples forthwith. One to watch, for sure. [...]

Penguin Prison makes some good Electro-Disco-Pop music. get it below...
True fans of music spend countless hours searching for that next great song, album or artist, whether it be online or in a local record shop. The beautiful thing about music in today's age is that technology has created an infinite supply of great music that is available to us at the click of a mouse. How perfect is that? We can discover a brand new artist on the opposite side of the globe in seconds without a radio or a music television channel. It only makes sense that a website so dedicated to this gorgeous universe of music would [...]

photo by Christopher Nelson Talk about a strong start to the week. We start off Monday night with one of the biggest acts to come to Seattle this year, Radiohead , performing to a sold out Key Arena. Also in town, Band of Skulls and We Are Augustines are at Neptune Theatre, while Andrew Bird is at the Paramount Theatre, and Codeine is at the Sunset. On Tuesday night, Miike Snow and Penguin Prison are at the Paramount, Explosions In The Sky [...]
Check out the latest remix Swedish band Miike Snow decided to share via soundcloud. For those who are tired of the electro remixes Dirty South and Alex Metric have done of the track, this one by Ruben Haze is a welcomed change of pace for those who enjoy downtempo, indie-synth ballads!

Abandoning the much applauded masks of producers/remixers extraordinaires, duo Bloodshy & Avant - Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg - team up with vocalist/songwriter Andrew Wyatt , to release another helping of Miike Snow , in the long awaited second album Happy to You . Riding off the success of a number of well received remixes and single, 'Animal' from the eponymous debut album Miike Snow which reached number 98 in the UK single's chart, the trio further their credentials in a comfortable, well executed return. The album [...]

Miike Snow seems to be one of those groups that producers can't seem to remix enough. A ton of remixes usually come out when they put out a new track so it's sometimes hard to filter out which ones are the cream of the crop. I believe this remix by Henry Fong of "Devil's Work" is one of them. Miike Snow - Devil's Work (Henry Fong Bootleg Remix) [...]

Miike Snow dropped this on their Facebook page today. It's the Pete Tong rip from Miami, "Devil's Work" remixed by Dirty South. Gotta love when an event like WMC spawns a great collaboration. Feel like dancing? You won't be able to stop after this one...

This week is a big week for Seattle shows, and thankfully, a handful of the best ones aren't sold out yet! Here is a list of some you might not want to miss! Saturday, April 7, Manhattan indie pop duo Cults will be playing at the Neptune. Cults has a pop sound all unto themselves, sounding distant yet relatable all the time. Their catchy and relaxing vibe found them to be one of the breakout indie pop acts of 2011. Now, they are here playing in support of their hauntingly beautiful self-titled debut album. Check out [...]
