The Dirtbombs , The Damned , Meat Puppets [...]
The door is over there. If, on your way in, you didn't drop off your preconceived notions about what pop music is supposed to sound like , ya probably oughta motor on to the next post. Because the music of Tanya Tagaq takes some time to unpack, and does the casual listener zero [...]
Now that you've all come down from the Death Magnetic food coma, perhaps you'd be interested in reading about something other than the latest output from four millionaires. Back away from the ledge, you pimply faced virgins, because it's time for your noise news. Robbing The Pimp To Give To The Saints Positively poaching southern noisegazers [...]

I don't know what I think about this... It's a little to much for me and sometimes it reminds me of Electric Six and that's not all good. But then again, I have always been weak for that Gay Bar track, I used to be a Faith No More fan back in the days, and it's a Hot Pink Delorean Remix so this has to go up. The Qemists feat. Mike Patton - Lost Weekend (Hot Pink Delorean Remix) Book Mark it-> del.icio.us [...]
So rumor has it that Wolfmother are done . Which is fine by - I always that band sucked anyway. Hipsters will have one less metal band to worship I guess, but, hey, The Sword are still going strong. Here's the now infamous video of a certain Monsieur Michael Patton expressing an opinion not dissimilar from my own: I knew there was a reason I worship Mike Patton... -AR Related posts: MONDAY SONG TO EAT MEAT TO: TOMAHAWK - "CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT" (6) [...]

To some Mike Patton is genius. Just don't bring up the first major label album he did with Mr. Bungle : AVC: Going back and listening to that first Mr. Bungle record on Warner Bros… MP: Why ? To the Onion A/V Club's credit, the follow-up question was excellent, but it's always funny to read Mr. Patton's reaction to that album. I (and many other people) think that album [ iTunes ] is genius.

Damn! Another great weekend of free live music and I will not be around to enjoy it. Boo Hoo. In the meantime, I will be banging my head to Philly DJ duo Crimp Yr Hair's remix of "No More Long Years" by GT favs Matt And Kim . if you would have told me 20 years ago that mike patton would have the kinda varied career he has accumulated and still be relevant, i would have probably begged to differ. the dude continues to amaze, truly. his new project finds him covering 50's, 60's, and 70's italian pop songs with his band mondo cane. they recently performed with the metropole orchestra in the paradiso in amsterdam and this is a recording of said performance. 1. il cielo in una stanza 2. che notte 3. ore [...]

Though it's been over five years since they've released their last original LP, Massive Attack looks to be in the final stages of preparation for their new album Weather Underground. Last week, I posted the BBC recording of a portion of Massive Attack's set from Glastonbury. However, the BBC only recorded about a half an hour of the set and thanks to Deaf Indie Elephants, we have nearly an hour of extra audio from the performance and yes, it contains eight new Massive Attack tracks, possibly from the forthcoming album. As with many similar groups, some bands [...]
by Bitterboxcar I was awakened on a rainy Tuesday morning-- 5:21 AM to be exact-- to a fight outside my window. Two gentlemen, whom appeared to be in their late teens/early twenties, were wrestling into the fences that so lovingly protect the concrete patios of my neighborhood. One was just screamin' "I could lake your life motherfucker, I could take your life motherfucker," whilst choking the other, and they seemed to do this dance up and down the street for about an hour. I was waiting for someone to either run, fall down, [...]

This one is either a very poor soundboard or a really good crowd recording. I won't front, I was 9 years old when this show happened. I lived in Las Vegas and I was very ADHD. I probably would have liked this band back then but instead I was into the Goth and punk my siblings were into. 01 Welcome Back.mp3 02 Bienvenidos.mp3 03 Travolta (Quote Unquote).mp3 04 Egg.mp3 05 Slowly Growing Deaf.mp3 06 Cantina Band_Squeeze Me Macaroni.mp3 07 Stubb (a Dub).mp3 [...]

Mike Patton has been in a couple bands throughout his career. Most notably Faith No More from 1988 to 1998. He has also handled lead vocals for Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Lovage, Fantômas, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Peeping Tom. Recently he has lent his voice to characters in The Darkness video game and the Will Smith movie, I Am Legend . His latest project was to craft the soundtrack to the Derrick Scocchera film, A Perfect Place. The album drops on March 11th, 2008 on Ipecac Recordings. Jake Sprecher of [...]

Song Qui ~ " Apartment " ~LA Style~ LA Based band signed to Mike Patton's (of Faith No More and more recently Peeping Tom fame) Ipecac label can bring the noise. The intro and opening riff in this song reminds me of the good old days of DC Hardcore. Oh the good ol' days... me and mike patton have had a very tumultuous affair over the years. i guess i expect too much from him and maybe his flair for the extreme is just too much for my brain/musical tastes to handle. as an artist i can only commend him for not being predictable but as a fan i can only bring myself to give him half of my heart. i guess you cant be everything to everyone. that wouldnt be very fun now would it. but did we really need to hear some guy blowing his ass out [...]

Nothing much to see here, as the talk shows go on vacation this week. So why don't spend some time with your loved ones, take the dog for a walk, run yourself a nice hot bath and read a good book. No? Can't sleep? Then might I suggest checking out Peeping Tom on The Henry Rollins Show this coming Friday night. It's the latest project from Faith No More and Mr Bungle lead singer Mike Patton , collaborating with artists like Norah Jones [...]
