It's official.  The name of the Chicago supergroup featuring Mikkey Halsted, Rhymefest, Juice & Twone Gabz will be Blaxploitation.  Or BLX. The tentative name of their debut album, which they've already recorded a handful of songs for is The DuSable Museum .  Blaxploitation will be holding their first official concert at Reggie's on June 17th, at Mikkey's Beat Battle,where they'll be playing never-before-heard music prior to the regularly scheduled producer showcase. Wayne MT, the man behind Upside of Down News, dropped by the set of Paypa of Project Mayhem and Mikkey Halsted's video for "So Mean" and held an impromptu interview with all parties involved. Last night at Reggie's, Mikkey Halsted and Omen had a free concert courtesy of Ford and their new (?) whip the Ford Fiesta.  Mikk closed out the show and during his set he performed his Lupe-assisted track "You're Gone" - which is one of my favorite Halsted records.  Unfortunately, you're gonna have to wait until the Photo Album until you'll get a taste of the whole thing.  Heck, I'm still waiting on the D ark Room.  Where ya at, Mikk?  Feed the fans...
