Long on name, long on talent, or so it would seem. This young and talented artist is releasing his debut album this July on Say Hey Records . Originally from Oregon, Mr Robinson is now domiciled in Brooklyn and has been working on this material for a couple of years with some very esteemed helpers. Namely Chris Taylor and Christopher Bear (Grizzly Bear) and Kyp Malone (TV On The Radio). His music, from the parts of the album that I have heard, is an eclectic mix of folk and rock with a totally natural feel and quite an individual [...]

Fresh off a recent cover feature in Fader and his new self titled album's release, 24 year old Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson (why not?), is beginning to build momentum. Robinson, originally from Oregon, now residing in Brooklyn, plays in a rock/folk style reminiscent of his Northwest upbringing, but he plays these songs through an atmospheric haze that sounds very much a product Brooklyn. Assisted by members of Grizzly Bear and TV On the Radio, Robinson has found the right friends and luckily he has the songs and the talent to match. Robinson's backstory is filled with [...]
Last night I got home from work and the first thing I did when I walked through the door was order Chinese food, hey a guy's gotta eat! After that though I sat my ass down and downloaded the brand new Girl Talk album Feed the Animals since that time I have done nothing but listen to this album on a constant repeat while dancing around my apartment! What an awesome, fun album, and I really hope
Photo by Boris Karn!! Okay, So, I didn't think I would be looking forward to summer at all since I haven't experienced winte r in over a year and a half, but spring here is fricken cold enough! And now that summer is approaching it is time for a summer playlist. Now, most of these songs are songs I have listened to [...]

I know gas prices are outrageous, but not to worry, the bands are doing the traveling for you. Check out these shows playing in both DC and Philly over the next few days: Former Test Icicles member Dev Hynes bring his new side-project, Lightspeed Champion through the area. Huge in the UK, it is bound to be a big hit over here. They are joined by singer-songwriter Adam Green . You may know of him from his time with the Moldy Peaches and the Juno [...]
Featuring Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson and The Blackboys as the supporting act. I arrived at the "Merc" around 8:30 and was down with a serious case of the sniffles, quickly snagged a signed copy of the 'Rebel Side of Heaven' on 7" vinyl and caught the MBAR act. The set started pretty lazy and although the mood was playful it took a bit to get into even being there. His set, of course, won me over and took me through a performance diving in and out of his newer material and tracks of [...]
Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, is so good its worth typing out his incredibly long name. And his "past" is also pretty fricken sweet as he spent most of his youth travelling the world with his comedian father! Helping out on his record are Kyp Malone (TV on the radio) and Chris Taylor and Christopher Bear [...]

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson , our favorite new singer/songwriter , is getting ready to take over the world, and he's doing it one city at a time, embarking on a tour with fellow Say Hey Records minions White Rabbits . The shows were announced a little bit ago, but, like with everything else, I'm playing a bit of catch-up since the site snafus. Check the dates below and make sure to attend if you can, before MBAR blows up and you wish you had seen him at the tiny venue [...]

If Kyp Malone of TV on the Radio is going to go so far as to call you, "my favorite songwriter right now," then yes, I'm going to give you a listen. Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson is in such a position and I have to say, that sumbitch has put out what may damn well be my favorite single of the year thus far (and there's certainly been some good stuff by this point in 2008). I can't tell you the last time I found a track by which I was so enamored that I just keep hitting [...]
Tuesday, April 8, 2008 Go Kansas! Actually, to be honest I was sort of rooting for Memphis. I have no reason as to why I was, but that's who I had my imaginary money on. Too bad about that whole silly free throw thing turning out to be important, right? Who knew!? Anyhow, today I have a great headphone artist in Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson. Or, as I like to call him, Miles B. He's from New [...]

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson certainly isn't making it easy for anyone to remember his name, but at least he'll be hard to forget, as "the guy with the four-word name." The 24-year old Brooklyn native may not be on everyone's tongues yet, but he certainly is on the radar of everyone looking for the next big thing to come out of New York. He recorded his debut album in his apartment with Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear and had lots of help from other guys in Grizzly Bear (Chris Bear and Daniel Rosen), [...]

Assured-beyond-their-years San Diego quartet the Muslims will definitely get a lot of attention for their name, but we're much more interested in the band's catchy, sorta sloppy and stark post-punk-infused rock 'n' roll. They mix a kind of Strokes-y, and therefore VU, detachment and something that bumps in the night like Hell and his Voidoids (or, better yet, Hell and the Heartbreakers doing "Love Comes In Spurts"). You can also hear a bit of the Stooges -- not just because the band cites 'em, along with the Replacements, as an inspiration -- and early Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers [...]
Hi everyone, if you have a chance give my remix a listen and if you like it a vote. Thank you very much.
It's a tad strange listening to a Wilco song without a Volkswagen commercial attached to it , but hey, we'll deal. The previously unreleased "Glad It's Over"'s a slippery toe-tapping Sky Blue Sky outtake that appears on the previously mentioned , Death Cab and MMJ-studded Heroes soundtrack, available only at Best Buy. Get acquainted with Wilco's two cents over at Hype . Kinda Spoon-y.
With friends like these, who needs...erm, record label contacts? At the young age of 24, Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson has already been a fixture of the Brooklyn music scene for eight years, so it should come as no surprised that he's made some pals in the scene along the way. For his self-titled debut (due July 1st from Say Hey Records), Robinson recruited the help of musician friends from TV on the Radio and Grizzly Bear to help flesh out his confections. Judging by the sound of "Buriedfed," his premiere single, it was the [...]
