On July 5, Dayve Hawk, aka Memory Tapes, returned with his sophomore release Player Piano , a 12-track album more musically bold, with handcrafted lyrical tales and charmingly reedy vocals than the reverberated 4AM synth dance-pop party [...]

Our favorite Miami duo is back, this time with a video and a couple remixes. ANR premiered the video for their song "Stay Kids" over on The Guardian a while back. Some kind of way it made it through the ATG cracks, but we've more than made up for it with some awesome remixes for the song. Millionyoung and Memory Tapes have both given the "Stay Kids" a whirl and the results are spacey, in a very good way. The band has a bunch of tour dates you can check out after [...]

Memoryhouse is offering up their newest single, "Modern, Normal," for free download on their Tumblr . This lovely ambient track is a sneak peek of what their remastered, re-recorded, and remixed EP will sound like when its re-released in September. And yes, that's [...]

Oxford is a city that's currently making up the majority of the UK's government, and now it seems intent on extending its monopoly into the indie music scene. In "Now That I'm Real," indie poster [...]

D'accord, ceci n'est pas d'actualité. Mais je préfère vous le filer, histoire de frimer en ayant ce track dans votre ipod. A mettre dans n'importe quelle situation. Dans les nuages. Memoryhouse - To The Lighthouse (Millionyoung Remix)

Steve Moore, who also goes by Lovelock, just released this awesome remix of Washed Out's "Eyes Be Closed." I know we post a lot of remixes here on Indie Shuffle, and I'm not the biggest fan of remixes that add fast [...]

I was cruising Vimeo yesterday and stumbled across this Hooray For Earth remix from Cereal Spiller. The music video is pretty great - lots of interesting perspectives and repetition to accompany the funky electro pop vibe of the track. [...]

The pending Summer movie season is right around the block. The action starts when POTC hit theaters next week, just in time before Memorial day rolls right around. I use to get very excited about the new releases, however, it seems that most of them tend to be sequels or retreads of originals. Although, "Bridesmaids," looks hysterical and "Super 83 and "Cowboys and Indians" (which should win an award for best casting of Harrison Ford since "the Fugitive") does have promise. We went and caught "Fast 53 the other night. Aside from a good [...]

Memory Tapes just released the artwork and tracklist for his new album, Piano Player , which drops on July 4. "Don't you follow me to the ground." Photo by Sara Sani You want more pop? Ok. Here's a beautiful little song I picked up over a month ago at Neon Gold, the NY-based label and blog known for their impeccable taste in pop acts. Keeping up with the trend, this song by Brooklyn's Savoir Adore is nothing short of magical. It's got a melancholic whimsy tied together by subtle, swirling synths and

This one won't be on the LP, but will give you an example of what to look out for. Omega La La La! Rubblebucket & Millionyoung! pics + setlist On Tuesday, Girlie Action Media invited me to come check out DFA-produced Rubblebucket, an eight-piece hailing from all over but based in NYC. The show was a blast- Rubblebucket's incredible performance, stage presence, quirky decor, and great music won over the crowd at LPR.

There has been some amazing music that have been making its way all around the interweb these few days. The songs below are currently my most played tracks in itunes. Coachella is this weekend. As tempting as it is to turn off my Twitter feed or not check Facebook this weekend, I will be glued every night. The good thing is that Coachella will be streamed and a moment won't be missed. On the upside, I won't be paying $12 for one beer, potentially losing my wallet (literally and metaphorically), not waiting in line to use the commode and not losing my cellphone. By my estimation, I would have had ingested about 6 double-doubles from In-Out by now. This is taking into consideration that I [...]
I trawled and trawled the new releases this week trying to find something befitting of our Weekend Tunage slot. But everything seemed a bit dreary, so I've delved back just a little for this one - Hammock by Million Young . It's a lively track with a sunny disposition; kicking off with the kind of guitar you'd be happy to hear whilst sipping on something cool (on a hammock!) in the Balearic's, then moving up a gear with some sweet echoey vocals. So, here it is. [...]

[ download ] [tweetmeme] Back in January, Old Flame Records released Replicants , the debut full-length from Florida's MillionYoung . Replicants is a thirteen track collection of synth-pop filtered through a chillwave lens-think Toro Y Moi and Washed Out having a rendezvous with Soft Cell and The Human League. On the album's title track, that's even more fun than it sounds; from its opening synthesizer revved-up launch sequence through its plucky, upper register melodies, "Replicants" [...]

The warm weather is starting to creep up all around the globe, even though it may still feel like Christmas was yesterday (or is that just me who thinks time really does fly?), but spring is finally upon us. I've recently decided to hang up my cold-weathered, somber songs that get me through winter and bring out those tunes that I just can't get enough of in the spring and summertime. The change in weather calls for a round-up of tunes that will pump you up for spring and lead you to those blissful summer days. With that said, [...]
