My limited memory of the band Ministry was always back in high school when my neighbor came over and played me the earth-scorching track "Jesus Built My Hotrod". So consider me shocked to find out via Waves at Night that they actually started out in the early 802s dabbling in synth and dub. Before they recorded their synth-pop debut (think depeche mode) they came out with some singles on vinyl, which included the amazing dub edit below. Ministry - Cold Life Dub (MP3) Next they came [...]
Before there were blogs there were these things called magazines, and the only metal magazine we still get excited about reading every month is Decibel. Here’s managing editor Andrew Bonazelli… I’m digging the Skeletonwitch cover this month, but Chance Garnette looks like a younger version of this guy. THERE IS NO FUCKIN’ PUMPKIN ICE CREAM IN YOUR [...]

The thing about Ministry is, sure, they were innovative, and sure, their live show has a lot of cool lights and effects and shit, but I think their music gets real boring real fast. It falls under the category of "too much of the same too quickly." To give a recent example: Remember that single [...]

When has flat-lining and eventually receiving a 100% blood transfusion ever stopped anybody from touring? As previously reported , rejuvenated Al Jourgensen and the recently reactivated Ministry are heading out on the road for the "Relapse Tour 20123 after overcoming some serious - okay, very serious - health issues. Now that's heavy. The brief leg of U.S. dates for the industrial powerhouse will include five concerts in four cities. The "Relapse Tour 20123 will rip n' roar into Denver, CO on June 17th at the Ogden Theatre before concluding with a [...]

Ministry Industrial rock legends Ministry will return next June for a short U.S. tour which will be preceded by the release of a new album titled Relapse . Chicago is one of four cities the group will hit in 2012, with two dates lined up at the Vic. Singer Al Jourgensen broke the news to Metal Hammer magazine earlier this month that while working on the new Buck Satan record (due out 11/11/2011), he and Rigor Mortis guitarist Mike Scaccia created five to seven songs that Scaccia felt would [...]
Ministry haven't always been the hard Industrial Metal and EBM act as you might know them. They began leaning further towards New Wave, and on this track especially, Post-Punk Funk. Al Jourgensen looks like a tit these days, but back when he was releasing vinyl on Wax Trax! Records, alongside Front 242 and Chris & Cosey (of Throbbing Gristle) he was making gold. MP3: Ministry - Cold Life (Dub)
Oh look! Ministry , before they were shit. You’ve got to go all the way back to 1983 to find it, but it’s there. Here’s ‘Revenge’. (P.S. Yes, that is chugging metal guitars and growling distorted vocals Ministry!) Buy Ministry’s music from: Follow @electronicrumor

Ministry 's Al Jourgensen is the latest participant in a near death experience. In 2010, the industrial juggernaut went into a seizure and was rushed to the ICU, where he spent a week and some change receiving a blood transfusion - a 100% blood transfusion, that is. Now, he stands healthier than ever. ( Editor's Note: If that story doesn't have "bad ass" written all over it, then no one deserves that title.) And much like Travis Barker before him, Jourgensen has come to a moment of clarity: He's got to get the band back together. [...]

"The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste" de alguna manera ha sido un album que marco una etapa de mi vida en la que empezaba a acercarme a la musica y en la que al mismo tiempo iba creciendo y un largo etc. Es un gran album y en lo personal me parece que es lo mejor que entrego Ministry en su carrera pero, cuando empezaba a investigar un poco mas me di cuenta que sus albums anteriores fueron mucho mas aclamados y lo que vino despues de este, ya no fue tan bien recibido excepto este track que [...]

2011 is coming to its halfway mark already, and suffice it to say, we rock fans anticipate some heavy hitters on deck: Soundgarden and A Perfect Circle have reunited, both with respective circulating stories surrounding new material; Rammstein are finally touring their "once in a lifetime" sets for us North Americans; 3 of the "Big 43 touted Jagermeister's banner last year ; Mastodon and Liturgy are, in varying ways, experimenting with the metal medium as we know it; Disturbed and Machine Head are returning to the Mayhem Festival bill for its [...]

Chris Connelly, coming off key contributions to a pair of recordings by Al Jourgensen's Ministry, neatly sidestepped the dreaded "industrial" tag here with simple musicianship (not to mention a dead-on Bowie vocal turn). Still can't be sure how he made time for Phenobarb Bambalam, considering he was also touring and writing as a member of Pigface, Murder Inc. and Revco.
This post is not going to debate the pros and cons of piracy. We'll save that for another time. This is just about a funny story involving piracy. For the tracklisting of Ministry's discrography on the Pirate Bay (we assume you can find the link yourselves) there is an amazing description, chronicling just why the ...

Just Keep Eating I guess I was a David Yow fan before I even knew what a Yow was. I was a lucky enough young hipster to have a great local record store called the Music Staff that put all the cool looking records on the walls. Discovered all sort of bands randomly this way. Some total fails like this major label band called Eat or maybe i picked that one up at Vintage Vinyl - the point being when you moved the cover it changed colors. Pretty psychedelic man. Anyway, here was this group [...]
Unhappiness over at Ministry towers, with Al Jourgensen launching a lawsuit against film producer Edward Bates . Bates' Gigantic Pictures is distributing a film, Fix, about Jourgensen; Al says he never agreed to the final version of the movie. He wants a quarter of a million dollars and final say over what's in the film. Not clear if, under the Al-edited versions, the scenes of him having sex with a roast chicken and offering "a bite" to Warners executives will remain in the movie. I suspect Al is probably keener on trying to [...]
