While all of those other websites just troll the hype machine, we manage to tactfully organize the best of what's been sent to our inbox. This week is no exception. Although I would hate to label one of these artists above the next, A Lull is one of my hidden gems in my music library. I even mentioned them in my 6 Music Mistakes Siri Makes in which A Lull just doesn't seem to cooperate with Siri. In any event, "Summer Dress" is free this week. A Lull is also pictured above. [...]

Afternoon Dream Edition I can't get enough of Kishi Bashi's newest LP 151a , and since you can't access that album on Spotify currently, I've put together a playlist that pulls from the same sounds of airy/folksy dream pop. As the weather warms and the days grow longer, this week's Hump Day Power Play is perfect for lounging next to the open breezy window. So go ahead and grab your favorite book, hit play on this HDPP, and as always, enjoy. Hear it by simply clicking [...]
When knuckling down to the finer intricacies of classroom-based botany, there was always an endless intrigue located within the way in which evergreens would retain their spindly fingers and seasonally perfumed pines for periods of time that, at such an age, seemed just so endless. San Fran duo Seventeen Evergreen tinge such concept with finite restriction and although few artists ever muster such profuse discography (the compulsive pulses of Daniel Johnston, R. Stevie Moore, etc. aside) the wide-eyed, raging synth maelstroms of follow-up full-length Steady On, Scientist! never quite substantiate the claims of radical enterprise contained [...]
Goodness. Do I know exactly what is going on in this new video for Raw Spectacle from Miracle Fortress' rather amazing Was I The Wave? No, no I do not, but I surmise that Graham Van Pelt, credited awesomely as "Fire Hands", is on the run from some local thugs, likely due to his, uhhh, fire hands. But I watched the whole thing with rapt attention, and it's really well done in my humble. Check it for yourself.
I just discovered the Montreal-based producer Graham Van Pelt and his electronic pop project Miracle Fortress . I'm really enjoying his new video for " Raw Spectacle ", directed by Emily Kai Bock . I don't know much about his release history, but this must have been taken from his last full-length Was I The Wave? . Worth a listen I think. Miracle Fortress - Facebook Mircale Fortress - Homepage

Raphaël Oullet Who would have thought that the title of Canada's queen of electro-pop would be such a contested one? Just last year, Toronto's Katie Stelmanis-fronted Austra seemed to have the title locked down, having collected numerous accolades both at home and abroad for their debut album Feel It Break . And yet just a few months later, it's Vancouver native and Montreal resident Claire Boucher who operates as Grimes that everyone is talking about, what with her new record Visions [...]

Let me just put this out there right now: NOBODY was hurt during the filming of the "Raw Spectacle" video from Miracle Fortress . What I wouldn't give to hear Beavis and Butthead commentate on this video. FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! Miracle Fortress: Raw Spectacle (Pantha du Prince Remix) [mp3]
The 2011 Miracle Fortress album Was I The Wave keeps on giving. The band have just released a slick video for that record's track "Raw Spectacle". Watch it here:
Here's a pretty surreal video for Miracle Fortress' Raw Spectacle . Minor burns were actually suffered in the making of this video. Miracle Fortress- Raw Spectacle
I am excited to share a music video for "Raw Spectacle" by Miracle Fortress (taken from 2011's "Was I the Wave"). It's directed by Emily Kai Bock ( Grimes ' upcoming "Oblivion") and shot by Neal Rockwell. I was impressed to read the whole video was made for around $800.
Official music video for "Raw Spectacle" by Miracle Fortress , from the album Was I the Wave? (2011, Secret City Records).
