Sam Chown, drummer for the psychedelic synth prog duo Zorch, has released the first song and visuals from his upcoming solo project Shmu. "House of Stares" is much less spastic and speedy than Zorch, relying more on funky grooves then dense layers of synths. It works really well and creates a pretty creepy atmosphere with Chown's haunting vocal repeating the hook as if it were a mantra. Mirrorring widerspiegelt die Seelenverwandtschaft zweier höchst interessanten Künstlerinnen: Liz "Grouper" Harris und Jesy "Tiny Vipers" Fortino. Was zusammengehört hat zusammengefunden.
