You may remember MNDR , AKA Ms. Amanda Warner's, leather-clad body writhing around on stage at All Things Gold 003 back in September. If so, you'll be glad to hear she is back with the new single "#1 in Heaven" and its corresponding video, which perfectly captures the flashy weirdness of the live show. The song reportedly draws inspiration from Patty Hearst , one of the first known sufferers of Stockholm Syndrome who gained notoriety after joining her kidnappers in a deadly bank robbery. The twitter acount @vfiles ( vfiles.com ) have been dropping new exclusive tunes the last couple weeks, from the likes of Lemonade and MNDR . The MNDR jam, "#1 in Heaven" is a sugary sweet electro pop jam that will get you up instantly. Seriously this Brooklyn gal, might be making some of the catchiest music in the 5 boroughs. The track is the single for her upcoming Ultra Records debut. If heaven is this much fun, than I'm sure many people will be excited that their afterlife consists of non-stop dance parties. [...]

MNDR 's new single #1 In Heaven (the first to be taken off her forthcoming debut) is a song about Patty Hearst , granddaughter of newspaper legend/millionaire William Randolph Hearst , arrested for robbing and murdering a person but eventually excused for the crime. The lyrics are her exact words after getting arrested: "Tell them I am smiling and send my greetings." The video was directed by Cody Critcheloe (SSION) and is a manifesto with different archival footage, animation, and film techniques, plus a faux boy band to maintain the pop-spirit.

MNDR 's new single is really good! No two ways about it! Released today, '#1 In Heaven' is catchy, rousing, SynthPop with MNRD's unique Indie-Electro edge. It's like a fine wine that hits you with different elements. When I listen to it I get hits of mid-'80's Depeche Mode, late '80's Indie songwriting and contemporary Electro, all packaged up with Amanda Warner and Peter Wade's particular sound.
