Hey, Vacay nation! I go by Pardon Pelican and I hail from Boulder, Colorado, where it's very, very cold & very wobbly. Today I'm bringing you some good-weather-good-vibe vitamins from northern California. Introducing Minnesota , otherwise known as Christian Bauhofer. Minnesota is definitely a producer to watch for as he's pretty invested in the production of high-quality vitamins. Don't delay — pick up your beach-town vitamins... Modeselektor - Let Your Love Grow V.2 (Minnesota Remix) [...]
The infamous Modeselektor are proudly presenting their new compilation album Modeselektion Vol 2. This time with a more dark and perhaps experimental approach. Certainly still keeping there eyes... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

The final day of the second weekend of Coachella 2012 wound up in topsy-turvy fashion, with electrifying sets from At the Drive-In (top photo) and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg (and an array of guests). From her sixth day at the festival (plus a stop for Pulp in between), photographer Debi Del Grande sends a sampling of the action.
With his band's Coachella duties taken care of, Thom Yorke apparently decided to have some fun during the second Coachella weekend. Below, we've got video of him joining his abstract-techno buddies Modselektor onstage. He also showed up at an Ace Hotel Brainfeeder pool party to play records alongside Flying Lotus and the Gaslamp Killer, and he DJ'ed at the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs and Rolling Stone 's Rock Room . Radiohead frontman and indie rock poster boy Thom Yorke dropped by the stage of German electronic group Modeselektor's set during Coachella to play "Shipwreck". And here's the original video...

photos by David Andrako Wild Flag's Carrie Brownstein & the Hives @ Coachella Sunday - 4/22/2012 "The second weekend brought record heat. Festival-goers jockeyed for patches of grass around the shaded perimeters. They pounded frozen lemonade at $6 a cup. "It feels like a different world from last weekend," The Shins frontman James Mercer said. "It was Iceland last week." While the weather forced some practical fashion choices, Coachella's sartorial influence was [...]
German house duo Modeselektor turned Bowery Ballroom into one large dance party. Fans were there for one reason, to hear great electronic music and dance, and that they did. Modeselektor - Berlin Modeselektor were the perfect hosts and Bowery Ballroom was the perfect venue for this soiree. After playing the sweaty dance tents of Coachella, [...]

During the final night of Coachella, Thom Yorke joined German electro duo Modeselektor for a performance of their Monkeytown collaboration "Shipwreck" . Watch live footage below. In related Thom Yorke @ Coachella news, this .gif is amazing (via Hipster Runoff ):

Weekend two of Coachella came and went, and we have two pieces from the festival to talk about today. Thom Yorke hit the stage with Modeselektor for his contribution to his latest album with the track, "Shipwreck." As expected, awkward dancing ensued via Thom's part of the stage. Lana Del Rey finally released the video to her single, "Carmen." The video includes....wait for it.... clips from the 502s and 602s. Lastly, Dr. Dre has a message for his fans and fans of 2Pac and the future of Hologram 2Pac. Strangely enough, Hologram Nate [...]

The day I eventually dared to wade into overflowing inbox to extract and download Death Grips' Epic Records debut The Money Store (legally, of course) just so happened to be the very same day that my withering iTunes finally conked out. Coincidence? Perhaps not – this lumbering hunk of electronic had been puking up error messages for yonkers but such notion may add a certain impact to this here intro, whilst simultaneously elucidating the aural devastation located within this heap of impeccably heady hip hop. Now extradited to the outhouse that is the external harddrive like [...]
When the Coachella set list was announced and I discovered that Modeselektor was playing the same set time as Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg I was faced with a difficult decision. I obviously had to see Dre and Snoop, but I wanted to see Modeselektor. In the weeks leading up to Coachella, due to many of you urging us to listen to them, I had checked out countless tracks and sets with the sole intention of seeing them perform. Three weeks later I found myself stuck on line waiting to get into the photo pit for Dre and Snoop, unable [...]
Festival season is officially on and we couldn't leave one of Germany's premier events off our list. Details for Love Family Park were just announced and the lineup is a force to be reckoned with. Sven Väth and Ricardo Villalobos are headlining the event but Société Perrier faves like DJ Koze (who is returning for [...]
The term "boutique festival" has been chucked around the UK press mercilessly in recent years, and as a result, no one can actually pinpoint what it means anymore. But, broadly speaking, if things like a small(ish) site, forest/rolling hill backdrops, intricate costumes, performance art, locally brewed cider and an emphasis on woodland creatures and masks [...]

When I was 15, I saw a curious looking Coachella DVD in the music documentary section at Best Buy, and bought it on a whim. It turned out to be a collection of select performances from the festival's recent years. It introduced me to the concept of the contemporary music festival. Watching awe-inspiring sets from the Pixies, Radiohead, and Arcade Fire back then made me long for this mystical festival destination for the ensuing years. What could be better than a music festival in the California desert, surrounded by swaying palm trees and gorgeous sunsets? As an East [...]
Festivals. There's quite a few of them around these days, and they're appearing all over Europe like nobody's business. So, if you fancy a spot of continental raving this summer — and who in their right mind wouldn't? — here are some of your best bets. Springfestival: Graz, Austria – May 16-20. The beautiful UNESCO World [...]

Wow, what a great night for music! Coachella is currently in hyperdrive mode with the reunion performance of hardcore heroes At the Drive-In and a seizure-inducing set from German electro legends Modeselektor (both streaming right now on youtube )! Now if that wasn't enough, Diplo and Switch just went and dropped "Get Free"; the first single from their sophomore album as Major Lazer !! Featuring the enchanting vocals of Dirty Projectors member Amber Coffman (whom I legitimately have a crush on), lilting synths, and a skankin' reggae beat, "Get Free" [...]
No idea how I missed this.... The track " Berlin " is one of the highlights from Modeselektor's very good " Monkeytown " album . And this video directed by François Chalet is extremely watchable. There is a giant monkey, it has everything.. ♥ Tweet This Post

No one does techno quite like the Germans do, and certainly no one can match the revolutionary, ever-evolving style of Modeselektor. The East Berliner duo made up of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary continues cranking out their magical bleepdy-bloops with the upcoming release of Modeselektion Vol. 02 on Monkeytown Records in June. The compilation is a veritable rainbow of collaboration, set against a dark, stormy soundscape of gritty, experimental tracks from the likes of Jan Driver, Egyptrixx, Dark Sky and many more. Bass lord Martyn teams up with the Mod-boys to deliver the 12inch teaser, offering an exciting [...]
