[ the official image of Sonar; a still from Sergio Caballero's forthcoming film, 'La Distanca' ] The city is buzzing. Club-rats, artists, and industry folk of every rank have flocked here to witness what is widely considered to be one of, if not the most influential three days in the world of electronica, internationally. We'll see about that, as low-life will be on site, reporting the tides and triumphs of this so anticipated celebration of the multi-media arts. " Sónar once again makes Barcelona the world capital [...]

Grimes Forbidden Fruit Photo by Paulo Gonçalves. If there's anything this weekend reminded me, it's when it comes to festivals, you don't have to travel to get the experience. With Bloom in the Park taking up a large space in the Phoenix Park to Forbidden Fruit in the Royal Hospital Gardens in Kilmainham, the green west part of the city was home to many more people's weekends than normal, an encouraging display of the sentiment that the city is there for us to use. The term "super-group" has a long history of disappointment. In the past forty years alone, there have been dozens of so-called "super-groups" that, to put it nicely, were not so super. However, after scouring Google for lists of the most infamous 'super-groups', it occurred to me that there have been very few unsuccessful electronic 'super-groups'. In fact, the majority of electronic 'super-groups' have met with considerable success . Don't believe me? Think of Swedish House Mafia, ( Axwell , Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso ) Moderat ( Apparat and Modeselektor ) [...]

Has Field Day 2012 birthed a possible collaboration? Perhaps Grimes and Beirut ? Or Franz Ferdinand hooking up with Jessie Ware ? Well, not that bizarre but it looks like SBTRKT and Modeselektor could be working together on something forthcoming. According to tweets between the two electronic outfits, they appear to be in the early ideas stage of a future collab possibly set up at yesterday's festival. @ modeselektor will email ya this week. Ideas [...]

When you decide on collaborating with the real meaning of why Radiohead are collectively known as one of the greatest bands in the world, you can only assume that there will be even more extraordinary non-corporate sounds being used, and less incentive to make your final production sound like a rhetorical finished edit, lined up against a wall of bastard children named redundant & longevity-nil-existent. Mendez and Pickster One keep it real. MODESELEKTOR feat. THOM YORKE – This (Mendez Rework) MODESELEKTOR feat. THOM YORKE – [...]

[Anstam] Earlier today, Modeselektor uploaded this dark experimental mix from Anstam . Anstam cultivates a marvelously disturbing demented mood; so if you're not into that kind of thing- I suggest you avoid him. On the other hand, if that sounds appealing to you, then you may have stumbled on some captivating night beats . Also, Anstam's "Observing the Patterns" is due for release on Modeselektor's Monkeytown Records on June 29th: Wolfey [...]
Ein Special habe ich mir noch aufgehoben: Am Samstag feiert Phon.o Record Release Party zu seiner am 18.5. auf 50 Weapons veröffentlichten Scheibe Black Boulder . We've had a few songs from the German duo Modeselektor that involved the extremely talented Mr. Thom Yorke . Their latest offering, "This", which we saw the video for not too long ago is now out as a 7" single and comes packaged with a B-Side called "All Buttons In" which also features Yorke. Although it's not directly, they've reworked Thom's vocals for the track. It makes for an interesting listen, not that we expected anything less! Peep it below via the good folk at Listen Before You Buy .
OK, that was weird! In fact, I hated it. At first anyway. Music Player: Modeselektor - This (Radio Edit).mp3 [...]

German duo Modeselektor and Thom Yorke have been known to collaborate, there most recent of which was " This ". Sparking danceable grooves in the initial single, they have spliced up Yorke's vocals to create an expansive palette of psychedelic echos on the b-side, "All Buttons In". Adventurous German electronic duo Modeselektor have worked with their buddy Thom Yorke a few times in the past, most recently on their single " This ." And on a new B-side called "All Buttons In," they've taken all of Yorke's vocals from "This" and layered them into a hypnotic blur, adding a slight touch of static crackle and absolutely nothing else. It's a haunting two minutes that may cause "Everything In Its Right Place" flashbacks, and it's below. Read More...

German electro duo Modeselektor tapped Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke for two track's off their latest self-titled LP: "Shipwreck" and "This" . The latter is out now as a 73 single , and though not a direct collaboration, its B-side, "All Buttons In", also features Yorke. According to Monkeytown Records , the track features "an experimental rework of Thom Yorke's vocals", with the whole affair sounding like technologically-mutilated chants from some secluded tribe in New Guinea. Stream it below (via Listen Before You Buy ). [...]

The b-side to Modeselektor 's 7" single with Thom Yorke ('This') has been unveiled. 'All Buttons In' isn't really as powerful as the a-side, but that's due to it being more of a remix than a standalone track. What we're presented with is a track consisting of Thom Yorke's vocals from 'This' cut up, occasionally delayed and placed on top of vinyl style static. A track for the die-hard fans, perhaps? Check it out below and check out the video for 'This' by clicking here .
Listen to Modeselektor 's new song "All Buttons In" featuring Thom Yorke . Last week Modeselektor dropped the video for "This", their vast and thundering house track released as a 73 single on Monkeytown record as the next from their album "Monkeytown" that features Radiohead front-man Thom Yorke . Thom Yorke 's hand in all of it was the skittish, broken, and reverberating vocals throughout, and now the single's b-side "All Buttons In" [...]

To be considered the crazy one in your bunch of friends is probably alright and just means your fun. To be considered the crazy one in breakcore, a group made up exclusively of lunatics, might be a cause for concern. And I mean that in the nicest possible way. Which is probably why he gets on so well with Modeselektor . Having contributed to their last two LPs, it was announced that, following the success of the first Mouse On Mars album in ten years, Otto Von Schirach would be welcomed [...]

Today, tickets for Coachella 2013 already went on sale. This was just announced a week ago and I'm still sucking in my three day experience that happened only a month ago. Unfortunately, I won't be attending Coachella next year as I have plans for Ultra Music Festival in Miami. BUT, for those who are planning to buy their tickets for Coachella, I have several tips and some experiences from what I witnessed when I went. I hope you take some of them into consideration as they will make your trip to Indio better and even more [...]
