La simple vision de cette cover m'a procuré du plaisir il y a quelques semaines, alors quand les patrons de Monkeytown Rec commencent à lâcher quelques amuses gueules sur leur soundcloud, ça commence à faire plaisir. Those cheeky monkeys are back with another menagerie of bleeps, blips, stabs and swooshes as we welcome the 2nd in the Modeselektion series on Monkeytown . As with the first one, they have gathered previously unreleased tracks from a wide range of producers from their labels and as always a couple of sneaky tunes in there for good measure. We have picked out a few of out favourites from the 16 tracker including jams from Martyn , Dark Sky , Egyptrixx and Bambounou . Set for release on June 29th.
Just a quick follow-up on the live Modeselektor appearance in San Francisco: the show was bonkers. The moments leading up to the headline were tense, featuring a DJ unknown to most of the crowd (myself included) playing insanely fast and loud Juke mixed with Drum and Bass. Anxiety bubbled up in pockets as people pushed their way into the main room, bumping beers out of hands and separating couples. El dúo de música eléctronica estrenó el video de la canción This, que cuenta con la participación del aclamado líder de Radiohead en las voces. Este track pertenece a su último álbum de estudio, lanzado como Monkeytown vía Monkeytown Records. A new video for (one of) Modeselektor 's Thom Yorke featuring tracks, "This", has appeared online and features the story of a young female puppeteer and her faithful puppets. All seems well before she throws the puppet across the room as her mood seems to escalate into a glitchy spin before it all gets a little weird and she's floating. Kind of reminds me of those old Windows screensavers... Just me? You'll have to watch it for yourselves up at the top to cast you opinion on the matter.

Tweet Is puppetry creepy, funny or simply irritating? Giving it a go at SGTMT Headquarters with a wooden puppet of a cat we've found it's pretty tricky. Watching someone perform puppetry professionally is something we've not experienced, except as a child. I'd imagine after a while it would become tiresome, as the thought of watching in real time the performances towards the end of the wonderful Being John Malkovich movie is. Creepy, though?
