The great Dane that is Trentemøller has announced the arrival of two incredibly special remixes from German beat-monkeys Modeselektor and the Grand Moff of House Andy Weatherall. Hey, no new Beyoncé video this week! Actually, this week's list is pretty much entirely comprised of inventively low-budget indie rock videos (or, in a couple of cases, indie-dance videos that might as well be indie rock). They've got plots and costumes and ideas , and at least a couple of them were probably released right around Halloween on purpose. Each of them is essentially as good as all the others, so ranking them wasn't easy, and there were a few - Mister Heavenly, for instance - that are practically as good but still couldn't squeak into the list. There seems to be two things we love with any visual art: Thom Yorke and post-apocalyptic music videos. Our newest addiction comes way of Monkeytown head honchos and electronic purveyors Modeselektor and their collaborative efforts with Yorke, "Shipwreck." Modeselektor's Monkeytown LP is out now on all platforms.
Directed by Tony "Truand" Datis, here's the official video for Modeselektor and Thom Yorke's collaborative track "Shipwreck". It features an abandoned boy and his fight for survival in a post apocalyptic world. The track is taken from Modeselektor's third album "Monkeytown", out now on Monkeytown Records.
