The Mojomatics are a two-man band -- MojoMatt (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and DavMatic (drums, percussion) -- based in Venice, Italy. The duo released the Devil Got My Woman EP on Shake Your Ass Records in 2003 and began to tour relentlessly through Italy and the rest of Europe, opening for such incredible bands as Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The (International) Noise Conspiracy and Old Time Relijun. The German label Alien Snatch agreed to release the duo's debut album A Sweet Mama Gonna Hoodoo Me in 2004. Songs For Faraway Lovers [...]
Þá er maður loksins kominn aftur í blogggírinn eftir að hafa uppfært bakendann á blogginu. Á tímabili gat ég ekki loggað mig inn og því skiljanlega ekki bloggað neitt. Nú ætti hinsvegar allt að vera komið í lag á ný og því ekkert því til fyrirstöðu að blogga úr sér lungu og lifur. Fáum smá tónlist í tilefni dagsins: [MP3] Bark Hide And Horn - Treasure Of The Everglades [MP3] The Mojomatics - Wait A While [MP3] Konrad - Osh Kosh [MP3] Caw! [...]

I realize I've been laying a lot of indie-tronica on you lately, so I thought a return to indie rock was in order, lest you think I've lost my edge. These three songs get me going each time I hear them and here's hoping they do the same for you. The Windupdeads -- "The End" mp3 off The Windupdeads ( buy --comes out Oct. 7th) Devin Lima & The Cadbury Diesel -- [...]

This week has seen the passing of a friend as we've all had to come to grips with Muxtape being shut down indefinitely by the RIAA . The statement on Muxtape's site reads: "Muxtape will be unavailable for a brief period while we sort out a problem with the RIAA." While we all knew it was likely coming, it's not like we were prepared for it. The end of the good times, the Muxtape times. OH MUXTAPE I HARDLY KNEW YOU. In honor of Muxtape we've put together a twelve song mix [...]

Did you know that, contrary to common parlance, octopuses do not have tentacles: they have arms. But squids have tentacles, two of 'em, to be exact, as well as the eight arms characteristic to the cephalopods. I did not know that. That information really just blew my mind. Doesn't it yours? Just in case this little bit of marine trivia failed to blow your mind, I have prepared Wait A While by The Mojomatics for you to listen to, which will, indubitably, blow your mind. The two-man Italian ensemble pull out all the [...]

Sometimes when a band is on a major label, like Interscope, I feel like I shouldn't or don't need to talk about them. When I hear their music being played on commercials (Volkswagen), I move their cd to bottom of the list. Yet, every time I listen to this album I can't help but sing and dance, and now yell its praises. London's Noah and The Whale's debut Peaceful, The World Lays Down for Me (Cherrytree Records, 9/16) is honestly an instant classic full of sunshine and walks on the beach (or to [...]
With all of this week's festival coverage , we didn't have much extra time to check out some of many new tunes. So putting together this week's edition was not only enjoyable, but a nice chance to catch up on anything we missed. As always, below you will find a mix of new singles, remixes, covers, and a few tunes from young, up-and-coming artists who you might want to check out. All we want in return? Let us know who you like. Oh yeah, and you could subscribe too! [...]

"…Damn best record I've heard in a long long time!" – MaximumRockNRoll The Mojomatics is a two-man band based in Venice, Italy formed in 2003 by MojoMatt (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and DavMatic (drums, percussion). The band heaps together hillbilly blues, old country, folk, and bluegrass, injects it with the melody of British Invasion pop, and fires it all out with the breakneck energy of the best garage, punk and rock'n'roll. The duo's playing is tight, electric and eclectic and often sounds like five, not just two! [...]

Today I've been introduced to, listened to, and loved the The Mojomatics . I've only heard the one song so far, "Wait A While," but I'm really looking forward to the new album. It reminds me a little of when I heard "The Modern Age" by the Strokes for the first time...this is the start of something... The Mojomatics -- Wait A While From the forthcoming album Don't Pretend That You Know Me , which is out September 23rd.
Italian duo The Mojomatics fuses bluegrass, country and folk with British invasion pop and a breakneck punk pace on its upcoming album. Fans of Gogol Bordello, Radio Birdman and Old Time Relijun take note.
