Nick Oliveri has quit Kyuss Lives!, which explains why he wasn't named in the recent lawsuit filed by ex-Kyuss members Josh Homme and Scott Reeder. But I don't really give a shit and I suspect that neither do you because the entire concept of having Kyuss without Homme was idiotic in the first place. What [...]
![[News] Josh Homme Turns Down Nick Oliveri's Offer To Reunite QOTSA](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3308423_lg.jpg)
According to an interview with UGO.com Nick Oliveri has shed light on the rumours that were sparked last year when this picture appeared of Josh and Nick hanging out in LA. Rumours were flying around like wildfire that Nick would possibly return to Queens Of The Stone Age and his role as their bass player. They were quickly shot down though and in the interview Nick says he and Josh are now on good terms and that as far as he knows Josh is " proud of the [...]

Remember that Mondo Generator tour that we told you about ? Well, it looks like it's not happening; it's been canceled. The band hopes to reschedule the dates to December and January and are optimistic about announcing them soon. This is a bit of a bummer, but at least the whole thing isn't completely canceled, just delayed a little bit.

Over the last year, band founder Nick Oliveri and fellow member Hoss, alongside producer Bradley Cook have been working on Mondo Generator's fourth full length album Time To Destroy . During the recording process they enlisted a number of guests to make an appearance and "Dog Food" is the first taste of who is featured on the album. With Marc Diamond (The Dwarves) on guitar duties, Happy Tom (Turbonegro) has laid down some bass tracks, while Dave Grohl provides the drum tracks and Nick Oliveri delivers his trademark vocals. "Dog Food" will be released as a limited edition [...]

I don't care where you grew up, every elementary school had a pair of weird brothers. You know the guys I'm talking about: would eat anything for a dollar, brought cat skeletons and unexploded WWII grenades for show-and-tell, wore corduroys in gym class. And at least once a year they contracted some sort of exotic dermatological condition that necessitated letters home to all parents in the district. If you don't know the guys I'm talking about, well, I don't know how to break this to you... I have a pretty good feeling that Southern Illinois-based Ashton and Caleb [...]

Josh Homme and Nick Oliveri! Now that was a sight back in the ol' Queens of the Stone Age glory days, not to mention the Kyuss era, when these two giants of rock would simply plummet pure riffage across the stage and audience. In somewhat antagonistic positions, Oliveri and Homme were like brothers until unfortunate circumstances, well to known and deplorable to mention here, broke the two apart. QOTSA survived under Homme's solitary rule, not only that, but the band flourished releasing two more well received banging albums, as well as gigs at most important festivals in the [...]

Though the name Mondo Generator may not the most known project from Nick Oliveri (of Queens Of The Stone Age ), he grabbed a great guest roster for the band's new single "Dog Food." Dave Grohl (of the Foo Fighters ), Happy Tom (of Turbonegro ), and Marc Diamond (of The Dwarves ) are all featured on the new track. While Mondo Generator be bringing all their famous friends on tour with them, the band will be hitting the road over starting in August, check out the list of shows after the jump. [...]

In recent years, it seems as though you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a musical endeavor Josh Homme didn't have his paws on. Besides his ongoing antics in Queens Of The Stone Age, he also found time to start a legitimate supergroup, continue messing around with Eagles Of Death Metal and UNKLE, produce Arctic Monkeys and hire out his various talents to Biffy Clyro, Mastodon and Nosfell . His erstwhile compadre, Nick Olivieri , has by comparison flown under the radar. His most recent outing, [...]

Is 'living legend' an over-used phrase? Not when you're talking about John Garcia it isn't. We sent Amit Sharma to interrogate stoner rock's standard-bearer when he played at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, earlier this month. Sometimes, even with the benefit of hindsight, it seems almost impossible to gauge the true impact of a band. [...]

Nick Oliveri is currently touring behind his second solo CD, Death Acoustic , and the tour stops at Piano's next Saturday night (Jan. 23rd). Oliveri is playing with Weird Owl (Tee Pee Records) and Goes Cube (The End Records) and advance tickets are $10. Death Acoustic is a collection of mostly covers with the majority of the songs coming from bands that Oliveri has played with in the past. While this is an acoustic collection, there is nothing soft or gentle about some of [...]
16 is a fucking brutal band on Relapse that doesn't get nearly enough coverage here, largely due to the band's apparent refusal to embark on a lengthy tour to promote its latest collection of furious violent outbursts Bridges To Burn, which our own Satan Rosenbloom reviewed back in January. I actually dig this album [...]
Winnebago Deal , our favourite Oxford-based noisesmiths, have gone and caught the Christmas Spirit. No, they've not been found drunk in a ditch, greased up with brandy butter and dressed in stolen Santa costumes - they've gone and stuck a load of Christmas tunes over on their MySpace page . So if you've ever wanted to hear some fuzzed-up, punked-off versions of 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town' or 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' , well, the wait is over. Winnebago Deal are touring Australia in January/February, before hitting the [...]
