What it says... These past couple months have been very strange for me, musically. I've been jumping back and forth from indiepop to instrumental post rock, skipping pretty much everything inbetween along the way. I just happen to enjoy the opposite ends of the spectrum more than anything else between them, but it's still funny to think about listening something like Mogwai and then switching right over to a band like Tiger Trap. Anyway, as you know, I've already made an Twee Pop Mix, and I'm still in the middle of a [...]
My desk top crapped out on me and I was thus unable to deliver requested files. Thanks to a friend's teksavvy I am back on the air with that shadowed sound of Night Music! All tracks drawn from my sleepytime mix, Stay Awake. Loreena McKennit's track, Tango to Evona , comes late on the Visit album, so you're already good and relaxed by the time this one comes up. Acoustic guitar and her aethereal vocals with a very subtle delicate tango rhythm. I wanted to choreograph something for this but [...]
Jaga Jazzist - Day Wonderfully relaxing music. This song is from the album "Stix". (jagajazzist.com) Rjd2 - Since we last spoke Rjd2 is my favourite band at the moment. Today officially marks the first day of fall, which is my favorite time of the year. It's definitely what I look forward to most with the transition into winter being the next. To me it's the most beautiful time time to be outside here in Auburn, walking around campus and taking in the changing leaves and the cool weather as the nights get just cold enough to put on a jacket (which is my favorite kind of weather). Some of my favorite memories happened during this as well, so that just adds to why [...]

There's something about the female figure that has this special je ne sais quoi.... The female voice, now that's the true esence of sensuality.... don't you just love women? So here are a couple of songs of women I find irresistably sensual. + Stina Nordestam - I Dream of Jeanie + Dani Siciliano - They Can Wait + Mono - Silicone (Les Rythmes Digitales Remix) + Roisin Murphy - [...]
Blah blah blah, trip-hop ! Mono - "Life In Mono" Mono - "Life In Mono (Alice Band Remix)"

Mono are a instrumental post-rock group from Tokyo Japan made up by four members: Tamaki, Takaakira Goto, Yoda and Yasunori Takada Mono sounds a bit like Instrumental Sigur-Rós and Mogwai. Their music is full of intense emotions, with the highest of highs and the darkest of lows. Their songs build with waves of crashing cymbals over consistant drums, then exploding with hard hitting electric guitars that leave you in awe. On their way to folding one thousand paper cranes for humanity they released their latest album "You Are [...]

With the last two bands i posted about, Venus Hum and The Evening Episode , hearing all that music was making me feel very nostalgic. I explained how much i listened to this at the time when during the mid to late 90's it was extremely popular. What else was there to listen to? I don't even remember. I always loved female vocalists, especially the ones that possessed an almost angelic quality to their voices (i.e. The Sundays, Mazzy Star, Innocence Mission, etc.). This coupled with the different facets of the electronic [...]
