A catchy new single from Melodies In Mono. Oddly, the artist notes that "An entire album will never happen." Yet, when "Take Me Home" was posted a note reads "Melodies In Mono will release a debut album in late 2012." Perhaps I can get an answer. For now, we are invited to download his releases. Very kind!

Hey, Internet pals. How was your weekend? Mine was, you know, it was alright. On Friday evening (after a long day of work) I chilled in my domicile with two of the roommates. We watched what turned out to be one of the worst movies I've unintentionally seen in years. What that means is, I [...]
All-new high-end studio furniture-maker UNTERLASS Studio Furniture has announced availability of the MONO 16 and MONO 30 floor racks for its flexible range of quality professional products proudly manufactured in Austria... Today’s budget-conscious climate has resulted in many musicians choosing to record in their own highly-personalised workspaces, often at home. Design consciousness is arguably at an all-time high, but what do you do when what you want does not exist? Why, design and build it yourself, of course! Which is exactly what Austrian Arno Unterlass did: UNTERLASS Studio Furniture [...]

BirinciBlog ekibimizden sevgili Mustafa duygularıma tercüman oldu. Hafta içinde size Balmorhea’in geleceği müjdesini iletmiştim yine buradan. Hatta baya bir methiye dizmiştim; konser Nisan ayında olacaktı, ben bu Aralık’tan almıştım biletleri falan. Şimdi de aynı şeyi tekrarlıyorum. Çünkü MONO geliyor hanımlar/beyler.. Geçtiğimiz aylarda MONO’nun çıkardığı o harika albüm For My Parents’ı incelerken biraz tanıtmaya çalıştım onları size. Şimdi madem, yeniden Türkiye’ye geliyorlar, biraz daha derinlemesine bakalım onlara. Ana akımın dışında kalan (mainstream diyor sanırım ecnebi buna) [...]

We've spent this week doing more figurative wrapping up of the year than we have literally wrapping golds, frankincenses and myrrhs, with both our Shows of 2012 and Records of 2012 features now alive and kicking, even if this year itself only has less than a couple weeks left in its legs. Here's hoping you've been able to vicariously experience evenings from the former category through us if you couldn't make them for whatever reason, though it's the latter that we're here centralising our attentions upon. As documentations of a determined time, records are the one [...]

Over the course of this past year, we've upped the impetus placed upon live happenings and more significantly on those situated in and around London: nights on end spent out and about have become increasingly exhausting, as we strive to conjure an increasingly exhaustive coverage. Consequently we can only hope these are wearying steps in the right direction as, at least from a subjective perspective, witnessing your revered artists recite their most estimable pieces – in full as did some of the below, or otherwise – is a substantial chunk of what it's all about. Here we've more or less [...]

You've doubtless already made up your mind on what were, subjectively (though this may perhaps be mistaken for a narcissistic objectively as is below), the records to have ultimately defined the year that was 2012. Personally, I wouldn't deem it to have been the best of years and though not the worst of years either, the dispersion of opinion on the top ones, twos, and various other fews across the board appears to reflect this. My maths is a little haphazard at the best of times – read on and you'll discover more on that – but the [...]
Long since a staple of Beak>'s inimitably immaculate live show , trepidatious listener meet Kenn; Kenn meet trepidatious listener. Now featured as the flipside to recent single Mono , it here becomes accessible even to the less obsessive Invada enthusiast. The prime disparity I've always found to be intrinsic when comparing the LPs and live shows of the trio also comprising label honcho Geoff Barrow and Fairhorns' Matt Loveridge concerns bassist Billy Fuller's central involvement. Yes, his bulbous lines tinge the records with their dub undercurrent though it's only [...]
'Well to paraphrase The Beatles, it only takes 730 holes to fill the Village Underground, and we did it.' That was the message emanating out from the startlingly accommodating backstage realms of the Shoreditch haunt last Saturday sometime gone eleven: a statement of triumph in adversity, and of aspirations of grandeur simultaneously. MONO , the understated though musically overblown troupe from Tokyo came, saw, conquered and astounded to leave all dumbstruck and indeed dumb. After the most intense ninety of live music thus far this year, words failed us. All of us. Thus to render [...]

, This Will Destroy You , Godspeed You! Black Emperor y Explosions In The Sky ). Me enamoré perdidamente de Sharon Van Etten y Daughter . Conocí proyectos nacionales que me volaron la cabeza como Soledad , [...]

Welcome to our weekly round-up of shows happening in the grand concert halls, dimly lit basements, airy cafe’s and grimy sweatboxes across the UK and Ireland. All acts featured come with the Best Fit ‘Seal Of Approval’ so you can be assured that your hard earned cash will be well spent. To tempt your wallets this week we’ve gathered dates from the likes of MONEY , Christopher Owens and Wye Oak . Wild Beasts @ [...]
Throw together Tokyo sludge metal experimentalists Boris and Bristol-based acoustic ambientalist Joe Volk , and you forge for yourself a striking equilibrium of what ought to be utter disharmony. Take the first syllables of each and you compose the nickname of the hapless and straw-haired, harebrained toff to run this town tonight , but that's beside the point. In his absence, and in irrefutable incompatibility here lies great redemption and live revitalisation of two very contrasting sorts. There's a collaborative feel to the combining of Atsuo, Wata, Takeshi, and Volk not least [...]

Returning to Camber Sands was always going to be an interesting proposition for the ever expanding, sometimes stumbling, always musically compelling ATP brand. The relative luxury of the Butlin’s Minehead site would have to be cast from the minds of the fans with as heavy a dose of experimental racket as was humanly possible. In this sense, and in several others we’ll get to in a moment, ATP’s Nightmare Before Christmas, curated by Our Glorious Leader Steve Albini and his (equally glorious)buddies Bob and Todd of Shellac [...]
