![RUSTY MAPLES BRING A DIVERSE SOUND WITH ‘MONSOON’ [PREMIERE]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4681181_lg.jpg)
Four guys, a girl and a sandy place (Las Vegas) create the vibe that is Rusty Maples (@rustymaples) and today The Wild Honey Pie are proud to be premiering their latest single, "Monsoon". This indie-rock outfit has a diverse-as-anything combination of instrumentalists, from a lead singer and guitarist from soCal, a Midwestern hip hoppin’ drummer and a classically trained cellist who was bred in the desert. And what do you get with this combination? A spoon-tappingly cool sound! "Monsoon" is a folk-inspired track with an upbeat travelling beat, an array [...]
I meant to write about Dengue Fever a few years ago, but due to my advanced procrastination skills, that did not happen. Until now! Their music blends Cambodian pop with psychedelic rock for a sound that works surprisingly well. This song is from their semi-recent album, Venus On Earth , one of my favorites of theirs. It's sung in Cambodian, so gosh knows what the heck she's saying, but she sings it wonderfully and the music is intricate guitar heaven. Monsoon of Perfume by Dengue Fever on Grooveshark

Built in a glimmering way that’ll stop you immediately in your tracks in a freeze-moment pause of lingering glances and voyeurtistic glares, Vitaliy Ghost from Belarus gives us his aspect on today’s stagey and staring weather report. VITALIY GHOST – Monsoon

"Ah, those soul-crippling conventions..."

The first Imphal Metal Convention was held on April 14, 2012 (announced here ) and met with a lot of success, as could be seen in photos from the event . The event was also significant as it marked the reunion of influential Manipuri metal band Post Mark ( interview ). The city will be hosting its second big metal concert called Monsoon Beats 2012, featuring Noiseware from Pune among others. We spoke to one of the organisers, Ithoiba Potshangbam, about the event and what people can expect from it [...]

Washed Out puns ruled the night as the rain came down by the bucket load. The drainage holes in the east side wall of The Mohawk couldn’t keep up and the patio turned into a shallow pool. I have to give it up for these fans, they stayed, they got soaked to the bone and they had fun. Dog Bite was able to avoid the weather with their opening set, while Memoryhouse had to play through [...]

It’s monsoon season over here in sunny Sri Lanka, hence the above track title. Taken from the 1979 Feel No Fret LP, it’s ALL about the bassline with this AWB ditty - sampled by Gang Starr if memory serves correct?

So I guess it's no secret and you probably already know all about it, but my new album is coming out in May. May 12th to be precise. I was living in Florida for a few months last year and wrote a bunch of songs and started recording them in my walk in closet that I had turned into a small recording studio. One of the very first weeks of my stay it rained non stop for a whole week. I was trapped inside with a monsoon outside and had nothing better to do than to play the guitar. So [...]

A few years ago I happened to come across Art of Trance's Voice of Earth vinyl next to a garbage can, ready to be destroyed. Its a pretty good album with some sweet tunes. My vinyl is a bit warped, but luckily I was able to get an mp3 of the Monsoon track on the record. I was hoping to be able to get you guys the Voice of Earth track, but its not easy to come by. We're smack in the middle of the desert's most thrilling and theatrical time of year - the monsoon. The daily threat of startlingly intense thunderstorms is both friendly and fierce. The rain will come, or it won't, any afternoon or evening. And if it comes, it comes quickly and with such a force and authority it seems as if each individual thunderstorm is trying to match the surrounding
