Monty Python - "Christmas In Heaven" Written for the film The Meaning of Life (buy) , and also included on the album Monty Python Sings . (buy) The Pythons have long ruled my pathetic little world. On a not entirely unrelated topic, if you ever have the opportunity to see Spamalot , do so. Freekin' funny stuff.

Parima kvaliteediga muidugi. Esialgu on välja uuritud, milliseid püütonivideoid enim vaadatud on ja selles järjekorras neid ka üles laetakse. Aga las nad räägivad parem ise: ( tuubi )
Click here to view the embedded video. "For 3 years you YouTubers have been ripping us off," begins a recent Monty Python announcement "taking tens of thousands of our videos and putting them on YouTube." So awesome. "Rather than firing off endless rounds of cease and desist letters," writes Laughing Squid , "the Pythons have decided to tackle the problem by creating their own YouTube channel . The Monty Python Channel offers high quality versions of classic skits , new interviews , and rare archival footage . [...]

After the 2000 elections, a Democratic president left behind a budget surplus as the Republican Party came to Washington with a majority in both houses of Congress and on the Supreme Court. So much for being fiscally conservative, the Republican dominated government immediately ran up a big deficit every year since, doubling the national debt from $5 trillion to $10 trillion. The US government's $700-billion plan to bail out the banking system will give the US Treasury new powers to monetize private business failures and fraud. It will be encumbered with $5 trillion in new debt [...]

Apparently I am now a theatre goer. My wife, in-laws, and I went the other day to see Monty Python's Spamalot . It's just the type of legitimate theatre that's up my alley. The musical, 2005 Tony winner, sets the classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail to music and dancing. The plots the same and all the hilarious characters make an appearance: from the Knights Who Say Ni to the hapless Black Knight to Not Quite Dead Fred to the Killer Bunny. [...]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =_qFzRWiQ3RA Kings Have Long Arms, "Big Umbrella" (Domino, 2008) As Candie Payne strolls through the rowhouses, this clip for Kings Have Long Arms ' "Big Umbrella" really starts to feel like 1970s British television, the sort of light comedy with a bit of the madcap thrown in that, here in America anyway, you'd see on late-night PBS. And hope for boobs. Then it goes color, and cartoony, and it gets into some Monty Python shizz. Not a bad song, either, though it is [...]
The Chap Genre: Alternative / Rock / Experimental From: London, United Kingdom It's the week for off the wall eccentricity. The day after reporting the madcap antics of the sandwich posting Lovely Eggs I stumbled across the Dadaesque experimental electro-pop band The Chap. The Chap, formed by Johannes Weizsacker when his [...]
So I'm back - it's been a while, and I'm sorry that I left y'all hanging. But I return with this collection of name-check goodness. "A Simple Desultory Philippic (Or How I Was Lyndon Johnson'd Into Submission)" - Paul Simon (from The Paul Simon Song Book ) One of Simon's most overtly Dylan-inspired numbers, "A Simple Desultory Philippic" was first seen here, on Simon's UK-only solo album from 1965. In this song, he sums up the life of a traveling singer-songwriter who has seen [...]

Monty Python's Spamalot Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Nashville, TN Wednesday, February 13, 2008 My first exposure to British comedy came when I was about ten. Monty Python and The Holy Grail was playing on HBO, and my dad called me downstairs to watch it (a decision I'm sure he's come to regret later in life). I certainly didn't get all the jokes at the time. I'm sure the bits about oral sex and various forms of [...]

In all the years I've been following US politics, I don't think I've ever seen as much interest in the Presidential primaries as I have of late. Americans are treating it like the latest hit reality show, talking out all the angles of each primary - anything that gets people more involved with the political process is a Good Thing. I think part of the reason for the excitement is that Bush will finally be gone - anything would be better, even a 12-speed Hamilton Beach Dispensing Blender, which isn't that far off from most of the current field. [...]

It's Tuesday, and that means it's Contrast Podcast day. But first, a confession: I've been unfaithful. Yes, I admit it, last week I omitted to draw your attention to the 'cast, whose theme was (wait for it) Infidelity. So if you're feeling guilty, atone by hopping over here for a listen. But this week, Dearest Friends, we're celebrating the Short Song. Yes, each and every tune is under two minutes in length, but uses its allotted time wisely. And Napalm Death makes it's CP debut! Hooray for [...]

Here's hoping all of your Easter Egg hunts are successful beyond your wildest dreams! The Essex Green - Rabbit : Cannibal Sea Magnetic Fields - Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits : 69 Love Songs, Vol. 1 Monty Python - "A Foul-Tempered Rabbit" : Monty Python and the Holy Grail Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong - I'm Puttin' All My Eggs In One Basket : The Complete Ella Fitzgerald & Louis [...]

I hope no one minds, but I'm going to get a little bit political today. I usually try to keep that sort of stuff off the blog, but I cannot ignore the great injustice which is being done. Next week the General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union will meet in Prague to discuss what it means to be a planet. They assembled a panel to provide advice, and they have basically blown the walls down, recommending that the number of planets be upped to 12, including Ceres (the asteroid), Charon (Pluto's largest [...]

Listening to CP18 , I remembered I used the Beastie’s song “In 3s†on an old summer mix. I dug it out and got it ready for your enjoyment. The mix of tunes is nearly as hot as the weather. (I guess I was into Python’s Holy Grail when I made this.) 1. Beastie Boys ~ In 3s 2. Beth Orton ~ Daybreaker 3. Erin McKeown ~ Slung Lo [...]
