NMB just premiered this ultrawarm gazewave track by Moscow Olympics who come from the Philippines and sound like The Radio Dept but a Radio Dept that wears their love of New Order more on their sleeves. Either way, keeping the avenues open, a reworking of an MO song from a year ago, is definitely vibe-ready and is a sweet look into the sound of the four-piece's second album, on schedule at Fraction Discs . I happened to randomly check in on my favorite Filipino quintet, Moscow Olympics , and was surprised to see the band had a link posted to a free downloadable single on French label Beko DSL . The A-side is called "To Keep The Avenues Open" with the B-side being a demo version of "The Farthest City," a previously released split 73 single on Lostmusic Records . This is my attempt at making some sort of art in our weekly album cover feature. I wanted it to look like a rainbow, but didn't have enough rows for it...so a multicolor stripe was the end result. I will miss the buzz of the Olympics when it's all done. There's never a good explanation for whenever I feel the need to put together these completely random mixes. I think tonight I just needed to put my mind at ease, and the following just happened to be the songs that did this for me.
