Este clip, claramente de bajo presupuesto y bastante obvio para el título de la canción, muestra en close-up un mosquito succionar la sangre de un niño, quien espera pacientemente hasta que termine la canción para aplastarlo. The video for the title track from Yeah Yeah Yeahs' fourth album is not for the faint of heart. Getting inspiration from the name of the track, "Mosquito" features a psychedelic mosquito sucking blood from unsuspecting victims. The mosquito gets fatter and fatter as it sucks blood from its victims until it ultimately starts to change colors. Oh, and for some reason there is a creepy kid on what looks like a Skype chat screen in the bottom right corner watching the entire thing. Even though it's animated, this new video by Yeah Yeah Yeah s for their album's title track "Mosquito" will still make a few people squirm. Mosquitoes feeding on little children isn't normally the kind of thing that people enjoy watching, but there's something special about this kid. Maybe he's destined to work at a carnival or open a gay nightclub, or just enjoy the '80s fashion revival when it comes back around in full force in 2020, but either way, he's glowing. [...]

It's with a faint sense of trepidation we hike forever upward toward Alexandra Palace, not least as the sweltering trudge seemingly represents the metaphoric arrival of festival season which begins in earnest in but a few short weeks' time. Después de su paso por Coachella , ambas bandas neoyorquinas se presentaron en  Later… with Jools Holland para promocionar sus nuevos trabajos. Vampire Weekend apareció en el foro de televisión para tocar "Unbelievers" y "Diane Young" de su disco  Modern Vampires of the City ; por su parte, Karen O y compañía interpretaron su conocido sencillo "Sacrilege".

Unfortunately, the latest Yeah Yeah Yeahs album is one of those instances when the album's lead single seems to be the best track, dwarfing nearly every other song on the album with ambition, glitz, and great songwriting. The rest of the album is a bit spotty, in my opinion. WATCH THE REVIEW

Karen O y compañía en vivo El día de hoy por fin tendremos el nuevo y muy esperado álbum de los Yeah Yeah Yeahs en nuestras manos. Después de su exitosa aparición en el primer fin de semana de Coachella , Karen O , Nick Zinner y Brian Chase , acompañados por su amigo y músico invitado de cabecera, David Pajo , se presentaron en el show Jimmy Kimmel Live! para interpretar dos canciones del álbum Mosquito : "Sacrilege" y "Mosquito".

While this Tuesday had plenty of new music to boast, the most noteworthy artist to pass through my ears was the Yeah Yeah Yeahs . After watching their performance at Coachella via live stream and now hearing today's release  Mosquito in full, I gotta say the new material is impressive. It also has to be one of the most erratic albums I've listened to in recent memory. It includes lots of mood changes, awesome samples (including a subway train), collaborations, a gospel choir, and a song about aliens called "Area 523 which might actually be my favorite [...]

Mosquito seems like a step back to the basis in what has been a lengthy musical journey for YEAH YEAH YEAHS. To be exact, it has been ten years since their debut record Fever to Tell. The three-piece from NYC have been on the verge of true commercial success for quite some time now.
