
Last night, I had the pleasure of spending some time with my favourite country-noir angel Marianne Dissard. She played the Paris Appelle festival in The Hague, her first concert in Holland (if I'm not mistaken), and also the first time we met. Tuscon, Arizona's Mostly Bears recently swung by the Daytrotter studios to perform some choice tracks off of the Ed Mitchell Clinic, the album they released earlier in 2008. Ahh...Tucson, Arizona. Home of Calexico...and Mostly Bears. You haven't heard of them? Well something tells me you'll be delighted to hear their music. Mostly Bears, just a little 3 piece band that started up in 2006, play full, rich, energy laden indie rock that grips my ears and pulls with all it's might. They have that vivacity and sparkle that I always look for in music. There's the same passion and spirit streaming through their slower ballads as in their large rock numbers.
