Earlier this morning, I read a socio-political analysis of twee that argued the roots of twee, both in a musical and social sense, can be connected to a subconscious cultural desire to attach oneself to a least-threatening denominator. Or something. And it used a lot of not-nice words. C'mon c'mon. No one said the revolution would come dressed in an anorak (although it might have a mint Kit-Kat in its pocket, you never know). Motoboy has an album due for release on the Songs I Wish I Had Written label in September. The label has released the track Blue Motorbike as a taster for the album. It's a 1980's influenced synth pop track which the label describes as a euro-hit. I am not to sure about it to be honest - it's a bit cheesy. Maybe it needs another play or two. Or not......... Soundvenue crasher endnu engang Vega på fredag, når de holder release på deres nye blad, hvor The White Stripes pryder coveret. Det bliver knap så new rave i forhold til de tidligere par gange, da de unge synthrockere fra Duné giver koncert. This is a lazy ass post as both of these songs arrived in my mailbox over the past couple of days. But one is on a label that is unnervingly great ( Songs I Wish I Had Written ) and the other is from a band that has a consistently high (and free) output. So truthfully I don't feel that bad. The good swedish label Songs I wish I had written (who recently released The Lovekevins new album) has sent us "Blue Motorbike", the first single from the forthcoming Moto Boy-album. Moto Boy is Oskar Humlebo, a man with a voice that could reach the sky.
