"Ocean Roar" será el último de los dos discos que Mount Eerie tiene pensado sacar durante este 2012, del primero, el recomendable "Clear Moon", ya hemos podido disfrutarlo hace tiempo, algo que no tardará en pasar con este "Ocean Roar" , con fecha de salida para el 4 de septiembre vía P.W. Elverum and Sun .

photo by Dave Lichterman Phil Everum's Mount Eerie project has already released one album this year (May's Clear Moon ), but he'll keep this momentum going well into the latter half of the year with the release of a second LP and an extensive tour. The album, Ocean Roar , is due on September 4th through P.W. Elverum & Sun, Ltd and he'll be on tour all the way through October, including two stops in Portland (Mississippi Studios on August 27th and Backspace on October 11th) and two in Washington [...]

I like Mount Eerie and Phil Elverum 's shit in general, though I'm not as fanatic about it as some people are. I can see why they are - he's got an honesty and engrossing artistic vision that lends itself to that kind of thing. I'm just not a card carrying member of the fan club, but otherwise, I dig it. Anyways. New song, "Ocean's Roar", off the upcoming full-length of the same name, sounds really cool. It's got this effervescent, dreamy thing going on, and that gives me an ear boner, so I felt [...]
It looks as though we're going to wrap up our great week here with the mellower side of things, and I'm perfectly okay with that. We're nearing the release of the second Mount Eerie album, from Phil Elverum this year; Ocean Roar is supposed to be contrasted with Clear Moon , which came out early in 2012. When listening here, I feel as if this track is dominated by the percussive element, even though it's lightly placed in the background. Phil quietly sings [...]
Hear the title-track of Phil's second album of 2012.

As previously reported , Phil Elverum, AKA Mount Eerie , will issue his second album of 2012, Ocean Roar , on September 4th via P.W. Elverum & Sun, Ltd. Today, the follow up to this year's Clear Moon finally has a first listen with a stream of its title track. While Elverum remains somber as ever, there's a hopeful vibe to the mix further exemplified by cajoling schoolchildren. It's delicate stuff, but it's also a promising start for the project's second go-around in 2012. Stream below. [soundcloud url=" http://api.soundcloud.com/trac ks/56632406" iframe="true" [...]

After two tracks of creepy, black-metal-derived ambient weirdness - " Pale Lights " and " The Place Lives " - I kind of expected all of Mount Eerie's sure-to-rule Ocean Roar to fit that template. But the title track has thrown that theory out the window. "Ocean Roar" sounds like lo-fi My Bloody Valentine, with Phil Elverum backed by a ghostly choir of female vocals. I was already pretty stoked about the album before hearing this, and now, much more so. Listen. Read More...

Mount Eerie , the moniker of songwriter and experimental musician Phil Elverum, has shared his first ever self-made, self-produced music video for "The Place Lives" from his latest album, Clear Moon , and announced fall tour dates including two local performances. The music video captures Elverum on a meditative walk through the woods, echoing the themes of his album. Andi and I went to the beach this past weekend. And now we're engaged, around five years and five days after our official first date. We're pretty excited and have been talking to all our old friends about the plans (completely unofficial at this time); most likely a June 2013 wedding. I sense a show packed with love songs coming up in the near future. As for this show, it was the normal mix of new records, along with some scattered favorites from the first half of 2012. Enjoy!
