Phil Elverum , aka Mount Eerie , has given us the music video for "The Place Lives", the first visuals from his latest LP Clear Moon . Being a native of the Pacific Northwest, Elverum's visual accompaniment sees him journeying through the dense, emerald forests that the region is known for. Being a native of the Pacific Northwest as well, the natural beauty Elverum indulges in is very familiar to me. Mount Eerie's last album, Clear Moon , definitely took drone and repetition to the forefront for the longtime musical project of singer-songwriter Phil Elverum. Phil is now gearing up to release his second album of 2012, Ocean Roar , and "Pale Lights" is the first song to drop from it. The track still makes use of the repetitive direction Moon did, but with a much more ferocious sound. The track is strangely structured, too. Mount Eerie has released a viscerally-chugging, bland, but exquisite music video to "The Place Lives" , the second track from Clear Moon . The music, while maintaining the dark mysticism, adds well to a mysterious video that's basically about a man walking and emptying a drink into a hole in the ground. It seems to have more effect with the music. Aesthetically pleasing aside, this track has got to be one of the most derivative  tracks.
