This somehow made it into my Itunes (how it did, I don't know) and while on shuffle on the way back from work Ben and I slapped this super hard. The song is a standout on the album UltraSex , which was ahead of its time when it was released in 2002. How We Do - Mount Sims

W-where did the time go? One minute I'm going to a New Years party and the next thing I know, it's over 9000 minutes later and I'm writing my yearly "Best Of" post. This year was a tough decision as I frequently found myself comparing apples to oranges . Yes, they're both fruits but that's where the similarities end. You see, on one hand there's apples...forbidden fruit, teachers pet, home of the worm. And then there's oranges...citrus, nothing rhymes with, orange you glad I didn't say banana? [...]
PETER WOLF CRIERHey everybody, first off I'd like to start with a band that probably tells a smaller amount of lies than it's name suggests. Peter Wolf Crier has a sound that for some reason I can't quite pinpoint but it's just darn good. You know it's gotta be good if he's coming from the same record label as one of our favorites, Bon Iver. The song is from PWC's latest album, Inter-Be which was

The studio version of The Knife 's upcoming opera Tomorrow, In A Year , featuring Mount Sims and Planningtorock , is now available for streaming. The opera, which is based on Charles Darwin's The Origin of Species and related publications on the subject of evolution, will be performed from January 29 to February 1 in Stockholm and later on June 5 in Münster. that's right.. Mount Sims - No Yellow Lines

Mt Sims , a.k.a Mount Sims, a.k.a Matthew Sims is an LA-based DJ/producer/musician extraordinaire. I first caught wind of him through a track off his debut album Ultra Sex , called 'How We Do'. It instantly got stuck inside my head, and it was full of all the right nuances to set it apart from the plethora of electroclash we were all drowning in back in '02. He even ended up DJing at a club that I also spun at. In '05 he released Wild Light , which expanded his sound beyond electronic influences, and it helped clue [...]
I haven done a play list for a while, mainly because its kind of time consuming; however I had everything ready and set up, plus I'm on a weeks time off so there is nothing stopping me. This list is basically a recap of older post of the month, as well as some things that I did not blogged but they are part my play list on my car, hope you enjoy it. Mount Sims was always my favorite of the electroclash generation... in 2002, "How We Do" was the anthem all by itself, and I must've listened to Ultra Sex one point one million times. His sophomore release Wild Lights ended up getting a lot less play on my stereo... partly due to it's release during a time when electronic music was a bit lost. BUUUUT Matt Sims is back! And with a band pushing the alternative spelling - Mt. Sims . "Grave" is Sims' most mature, fully realized release to date. Dark, broody [...]

Hungry Eye Records , home to well-respected bands like The Vanishing & The Sixteens , is now home to Mt. Sims (Who at one point used to be the musical vision of one Matt Sims, but is now a full-on band). Speaking in the most general aspect, with their now much darker, brooding sound, Mt. Sims would fit pretty well between some Joy Division , She Wants Revenge , & Bauhaus (Mt. Sims actually had some production help from David J. [...]
