"Mountains Come Out Of The Sky" is a swirly and cumbersome fanfare, and part of Slugabed's "Time Team" LP. Can you let me geek-out for a sec? It's kind of like Darth Vader's Imperial March 2.0 - Vader's retirement years - when he probably would have mellowed-out a bit... Anyway, Lapalux has melted the track down and smeared its bits across the floor like an intergalactic rainbow. "I have a confession to make: I messed up your burrito." Brian Sella of The Front Bottoms is apologising to me about mistaken Mexican food, while we clean up the show, in the art gallery, inside a castle, where The Front Bottoms have just played a solid hour of the best singalong punk rock to come to the UK in a long while. As moments go, it's up there. I first got into these guys driving home from a bar in Philadelphia back in February. Jenny, our designated driver nearly had [...]
Here's a beautiful remix from the UK producer Alex Clapworthy aka Lapalux of Slugabed's "Mountains Come Out of the Sky". Brilliant rework taking us into the imaginary world of Chill music. Just in case you didn't know Lapalux is currently in Australia starting his two week long Australia and New Zealand tour. Check him out [...]

2 titres apparus comme par magie sur soundcloud sur le compte de Gold Panda . Mountain et Financial District annoncent peut-être un album en cette année 2012... streaming dessous, et achat ici . Gold Panda - Mountain Gold Panda - Financial District

Gold Panda describes the 73 he's created for "Mountain" and "Financial District" as a "short story," hinting at something in the future that could twist his sound in a completely new direction. It's great to hear him return to the tempos that grabbed our attention in the first place, and you should purchase the vinyl via NOTOWN today.
Beatmusic producer Gold Panda has digitally released a brand new single fro Ghostly International, which will be available physically on July 11th. The dude's 2010 album Lucky Shiner wasn't one of my favorites of that year, but there's still a lotta production chops there I can't deny-especially in the case of these two new tracks. The track "Mountain" feels like a short visit to some far-off Tibetan monastery, housing some of the most at-peace-with-the-world monks known to man. "Financial District" seems to fit its title as well, feeling much more robotic, calculated, [...]
Listen to Gold Panda 's two new songs "Mountain" and "Financial District" below. U.K. producer Gold Panda is back with two new songs and a video, to make us feel extra super special. Both of these tracks will appear on a new 73 single released in June or if you're impatient, you can download them today. To my knowledge these are the first new tracks that aren't remixes since last year's "MPB" , though I'm sure I could've [...]

Con ustedes "Mountain" y "Financial District" dos tracks nuevos de Gold Panda. Ámbos tracks vienen en un 7" que saldrá el próximo 11 de junio. Enjoy.

Look who's back from masticating on the figurative bamboo shoots of whichever wilderness he may have been inhabiting-slash- the studio where he may have been engineering new Frankie & The Heartstrings schtuff ? Out digitally this week via his very own Notown label, here are both sides to Gold Panda's forthcoming 7" single ( out June 11th ). Financial District is a bold and bubblicious globule of great effervescence, laced with Derwin's infatuation with all things East Asia. However it's the out-there ethnic persistence of Mountain that's at the pinnacle of these things [...]

New tracks from Gold Panda. "Financial District" and "Mountain" both possess an eerie quality. Both melodies consist of single notes played long and in an irregular sequence, dotted by a bouncing pattern of strokes that adds texture but gets choked out by the rest of the percussion. An ominous ambience has been created, each note runs into the next forming a sustained pattern that feels almost like an unbroken wave of sound, which makes for an intense listening experience. Suspenseful vibes, but also filled with a touch of sadness. • GOLD PANDA [FB] [...]

White Mountaineering has become well known for their Jacquard print in the last two seasons mainly on separates and outwear. This time they use the classic pattern on lightweight and soft shorts. Und..... Beck ? No, we're afraid not that one. For a sincere fan of Beck, this song is welcome news this week. Beck's cover of "I Only Have Eyes For You" could be attributed to many different artists over the years and made most popular by The Flamingos , but the uniqueness of each one is what makes the song so special. A full list of everyone who's covered this song can be found here if that interests you. As a second tier of info to this dreamy and oddly high-quality version [...]

Joakim - Labyrinth (Junior Boys Remix) By Stef Siepel The Weekly Froth! A weekly take on six tracks, most of which have recently popped up somewhere in the blogosphere. Bit of a mixed bag with a slight leaning towards house, disco, and remixes, but generally just anything that for some reason tickled the writer's fancy. Track of the week: 'Labyrinth' by Joakim (Junior Boys remix) I loved loved loved the Joakim album last year (and definitely check out the prolonged [...]

Chris Forsyth & Koen Holtkamp - "Early Astral (excerpt)" As I lean back in my desk chair listening to Koen Holtkamp and Chris Forsyth 's recent Early Astral LP through a pair mid-range plastic headphones, I almost feel like I'm doing the album (and myself) a disservice; a scorching two-sided jam of volcanic proportions, this LP begs to be cranked out of a beat-up El Camino barreling down the freeway towards certain destruction. Whether you're a disciple of Holtkamp's [...]
Goodness, how do we come up with the right words after, as always, being left speechless by something with the Bon Iver name attached to it. In this video for "Towers" (directed and edited by the same people who brought us the video for " Holocene "), we witness a day in the life of a man living in the mountains. Simple enough, yes, but if the cinematography isn't enough to keep your attention, trust us in that, getting to the simple message that comes at the very end of the video is certainly worth your while. Though [...]
+1 - message = message from math tinder on Vimeo. This came to us late last year and we forgot how much we loved it! We say it all the time around here, we get a lot of mail from bands and labels who think we might be interested. It's crap most of the time, [...]
