The theatrical trailer for director Nicolas Winding Refn's ( Drive ) and Ryan Gosling's ( Drive ) second collaboration,  Only God Forgives , was released over the weekend. The film received an iffy reaction from crowds when it premiered at Cannes last month, but it should find a solid following from fans of  Drive . Spartans had a big 2007, thanks to Zack Snyder's now-legendary 300 . The tale of 300 burly Greek soldiers waging war against their Persians counterparts has been aped numerous times by movies like Clash Of The Titans and its sequels, and because money, the movie's official sequel is fast approaching. Dubbed 300: Rise Of An Empire , the first trailer looks to be staying within the original's comfort zone: slow-motion, sand-washed battle scenes, blood that pops off the scene, and a bunch of half-naked people. The new trailer for Peter Jackson's  The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug  is here! I honestly am not a huge fan of  The Lord of the Rings , but with the whole fantasy genre sweeping the population with  Game of Thrones -related fervor, I can imagine the masses swarming to see the next film in the  Hobbit trilogy will grow even larger. Wizards, dwarves, giants, dragons, forests, and swords will all be the next in line for Hollywood's next big craze, hopefully replacing the over-saturation of zombie films. If you've been wondering where Christian Slater and his crazy eyes have been, he's apparently been  Stranded . The sci-fi horror/thriller, directed by Roger Christian ( Battlefield Earth ), looks to be a generic sci-fi film, complete with various gimmicks and cliches that have been overused numerous times since  Alien debuted in 1979. Still, there's a certain level of appeal in seeing Slater pretend to be scared by an unseen alien force. If anything,  Stranded  could prove to be a cheap thrill and easy (unintended) laughs when it gets lost in theaters on July 26th.

Last week, the  trailer for  Getaway starring Selena Gomez and Ethan H awke debuted , which struck me as an odd pairing for the  Springbreakers actress and  Before Midnight  actor. However, that's nothing compared to the pairing of Vanessa Hudgens ( Springbreakers ) and Nicolas Cage ( Kick-Ass ) in  The Frozen Ground . However, unlike the Gomez x Hawke duo, it appears that Hudgens and Cage will be able to co-exist, perhaps due to the film's premise. The next chapter in the  Insidious story has just been unveiled. Back in 2011, there was this lovely little movie being developed called The Hand Job  that was gonna star Aubrey Plaza ( Safety Not Guaranteed ) as an inexperienced high school graduate desperate to have her first sexual experiences to prepare herself for college.
