If this Hype Device were a Rocky movie, then it would feature Clubber Lang / Mr. T , but (sadly) it does not. We do have bands from Scotland, England, California, and New Jersey, though. Actually, there are TWO from New Jersey. That's gotta count for something, right? No? On with the show. Check out the Radio Exile mp3 Hype Device III "after the jump" Here are five bands who who deserve some hype. So [...]

A song from his recently released . zip tape Mr. T , which has seen press everywhere from Midwest Broadcast (where we got this video ), to City Pages , to even Idolator , the video for "Numbers Game" incorporates footage from Menace II Society to tell its tale of, um, the numbers game. Watch it at the top of the post. Trama MySpace Page (Jon Graef)
I love Trama's new ziptape (his term) Mr. T, hosted by comedian Boima Freeman and available for free download April 14. Only disappointment: No samples of the real Mr. T's 1984 rap record, Mr. T's Commandments.

Strictly for the archives. Yup, a rap album by B. A. Baracus or Mr. T AKA "The Man," as it reads. If you have to ask, skip this joint. If you're interested, tracklisting & link after the break. A1 Mr. T's Commandment A2 Don't Talk To Strangers A3 The Toughest Man In The World A4 Mr. T, Mr. T (He Was Made For Love) B1 The One And Only [...]

This weeks NME makes for a depressing read (skimmed through it in Sainsbury's), it seems they have cut/copy/pasted the BBC's 10 Acts to watch in 2009, this sort of journalism is fine in my world, the one of the lazy bitter blogger. But for a real (as in, can buy in the shops) magazine it seems pretty lazy. I skipped to their reccomendations for 'Electro' music this year, it was almost laughable, the mighty Party Shank appeared, two kids, probably from Hoxton who make jokey-hadoukenesque music and have track names like 'Penis Vs. Vagina'. It's all fun enough [...]

We're easing our way back into things after packing it in around Christmas Eve.?? It's strange how this type of thing is like exercising - take a few days off and it feels difficult, almost alien.?? We never did get around to reposting some of our lost posts from a few weeks back, so why not do so today. Plush Mr. T Egats.?? It???s sold out (insert I pity the fool joke here).?? I???ve never wanted anything more at this very moment than this mini-Mr. T plush doll . [...]

Egats. It's sold out (insert I pity the fool joke here). I've never wanted anything more at this very moment than this mini-Mr. T plush doll . The best is if you could get these in sets of iconic 80's action stars, like Sly Stallone, Arnold Shwertz Schwartzen Schwartzeneger the guy running California, Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme. Description: [...]

5. mr. t. his beard wasn't anything to write home about, and i can safely admit that. but the hawk? oh, the hawk. that thing was a piece of work. extra points for the facial expression. 4. kimbo slice this man's hair is so impressive, i decided to throw up two pictures. the first exhibits his healthy nest of a beard during a quick break during his intensive workout... there are a few pivotal moments in the history of the frohawk in pop culture, and i'd like to quickly pinpoint them each. in my opinion, the friendly-yet-intimidating superstar mr. t started out the afro-mohawk hybrid a minute ago. and i do mean a minute ago. the chicagoan actor, best known for his role as clubber lang in rocky III , was the youngest boy in a 12-kid household, and needed a way to stand out among the bunch and let people know he meant business. that's when the frohawk came [...]
And you do not disobey Mr. T, especially when he rocks the cutoffs like this: Treat Your Mother Right - Mr. T Thanks to Chad for unearthing this gem of awesomeness.
Sunspot versus Mister T "Axe," a bounty hunter whose gimmick is that he resembles a certain 1980's icon and who, uh, wields an axe (but only hits people with the flat of the blade, in true CCA-approved fashion). (from New Mutants #7, September 1983; by Claremont, Buscema, and McLeod) Where's Dwight Schultz when you need him? Axe wasn't the only B.A. Baracus analogue traipsing around the Marvel Universe during the second half [...]
I had another post planned for today, but in between some frustrating network problems at work and an unshakeable feeling of histamine-induced sleepiness, I couldn't give the subject the attention it deserved. Barring another unforseen crisis, it should go up tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm just going to take the quick and easy route and let slip the hounds of nostalgia... The Rock Flowers - It Takes a Real Man (to Bring out the Woman in Me) (from a 1971 promotional pack-in single) - One [...]
