Moments before the candidates took the stage Wednesday night, Bob Schieffer placed an upskirt photo of Cynthia McCain on the table at the old war hero's place. SO.... it's been a while since I posted last. And amazingly, I'm still listening to the last few things I wrote about. Okkervil River, Delta Spirit-- still rocking them both. But there are new things to talk about. Next week Mr Kyle I'm Just Sayin is All Pfister is spoiling [...]

Interesting release week. Nothing crazy huge, unless you count the new Oasis album. I don't. They're good and all, but this whole reunion thing is getting a little old. Plenty of stuff that'll probably be worth checking out, though. Annuals , Antony and the Johnsons , Grails , Margot & the Nuclear So and So's , Devin the Dude , The Streets , Deerhoof , These Arms Are Snakes ... Lots of stuff I should be more familiar with than I am. [...]

Before coming to Australia, where I'm studying until December, I was repeatedly told that there is no local music scene in Sydney. "It's all DJs and clubs and $20 drinks and dress codes," they said. Well apparently, these people never wandered outside of the two block radius encompassed by our campus. Sydney's music scene is thriving. Last week, I wandered into the Hopetoun Hotel (they call bars hotels, weird) in a wonderful town called Surry Hills to discover Pikelet, an Australian singer/songwriter/magician out of Melbourne. Sitting alone with a classical guitar, in front of two mics and above an assortment [...]

Okay, Alexander, Martin, Ali and myself have been busy since I last posted here. We've got four whole more episodes, and pretty soon, we'll be producing a special episode for Osheaga. So, uh...what's up, everybody? I've started this entry without having anything to write about today. I could rant about how Apple is now the number one music retailer in the United States , and why that's bad for artists (Remember when I reported on how Apple wants to lower the percentage royalty earned by songwriters even further ?). I could write about how Wal-mart is tired of willingly losing money by selling CDs , and now wants every album they sell to cost consumers less than ten dollars, but that would mean citing (at length) an article [...]
