This weekend it's all about Friday night. There are two parties in town that will giving the bass bins a more than healthy seeing to. BokBok is celebrating his birthday Night Slugs style as they take over Drums Of The South at Plan B, Brixton. Residents Bok Bok & Manara and L-Vis 1990 will no doubt lay down some ridiculous bass alongside Silverlink ( myspace ) and the amazing Oneman ( myspace ). Facing off with Night Slugs is an [...]

We are big fans of Evil Nine here at Discobelle and when we got the hear the remixes that they got lined up for their new 123 we were impressed. On the 123 you will find a DJ version of the track and remixes from Alex Metric and Glitch Mob . You got get this when it drops. But we got the mix that didn't end up on the 123, the one from Mumdance and with Jammer on the microphone. This is good shit! Evil [...]

I'm a big hater atm, but these i love. Totally yes, love. Mumdance seem to throw out a gem every now and again, this is def no exception. I can totally handle the bloc party-esque vocals, although i usually don't. It seems that when they're coupled with an eerie, ethereal synth-bell harmony, and then flip into a main part that is just balls-out hard and dancey that they take on a whole new piece of cool. Throw in a "Jump Around" drum sample and we're alllll gooood. [...]

Those fine lads in Radioclit just dropped another joint on us. Their killer "Secousse EP" was just released on Mental Groove Records (highly recommended, just check the promo mix ) and some of y'all might have heard the Crookers remix that's been floating around (check Hype Machine). This remix was made by UK producer Mumdance and it's one funky number that will surely make you bounce. Radioclit - Secousse (Mumdance remix) (YSI) Radioclit - Secousse (Mumdance remix (zShare) [...]

Just a few weeks ago I found out from the Mad Decent blog that Diplo was making a new mixtape with Santogold, featuring all kinds of Santogold remixes and mashups from Diplo, XXXchange, Mumdance, Switch, Radioclit. But yesterday they announced that the mxitape, Top Ranking, was finally available on CD through Turntable Lab. Luckily, they've given us a taste of the Top Ranking through a couple of tracks that didn't quite make it to the mix. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of Santogold's album, but I'm definitely going to give Top Ranking a shot, just because [...]

I straight up ripped this little story right off the VICE UK page... Buuuuuut I thought it went well with my post earlier about how the greatest flattery in indie rock these days is being remixed by great DJs and having your dance hit turned into a MEGA dance hit. I love the idea of music [...]
Jammer throws down... I was cruising around the Mad Decent blog this a.m. when I came across a post from Diplo talking about his fascination with the London Grime scene back in 2004 and how he'd visited Jammer in his dad's basement... Here's an unofficial remix of Black Lips 'Veni Vidi Vici' - the original [...]

Hope you guys had a good holiday, here are a couple things I've been enjoying lately. Regularly scheduled posting will resume tomorrow: I received a myspace friend request from El Guincho , who's also a member of Barcelona's tribal/psych pop outfit Coconot . On his sample-heavy Alegranza solo LP, El Guincho draws from the worlds of tropicalia, afrobeat, dub, and elsewhere to create an ethereal summer pop gem in the vein of Person [...]
