Are we the only music site to have reviewed albums from both Muneshine and Hannah Georgas ? After doing exactly zero research on this question, I'm going to go ahead and say yes, yes we are. So a Muneshine remix of a Hannah Georgas song is the kind of thing that fits squarely in our wheelhouse, and truthfully I was prepared to enjoy it even before I heard it. Luckily it's better than I could have expected, with Muneshine outfitting this track from Georgas' last album with an amped up [...]

Quills releases a single prior to his debut solo album Dreamcatcher After an 8 year hiatus from music, Quills has emerged with a mature sounding, introspective and heartfelt project entitled Dreamcatcher . His story, his passion, and his fierce delivery are on display throughout the chapters of this candid glimpse into his soul. Today he releases this single entitled "Reflections" as a pre-cursor to the album. The track, produced by highly respected and award winning Canadian producer Muneshine, is a throwback to the boom bap era and paints the picture behind the rebirth of a voice. It's a [...]

There Is Only Today (Remixes) | EP (Part 1) by Muneshine Taken from the There Is Only Today (The Remixtape)
If you read my review of Toronto MC/producer Muneshine's awesome last record, There is Only Today , you know the Mune is the man to see if you want that lush-sounding hip hop with honest and engaging lyrics. After checking his latest video for the title track, directed by Dan Jardine, I know he has what I need too. I mean who couldn't use an awesome team of stewardesses to help guide them through their day? It looks like it would make anyone's day roughly 76% more glamorous and efficient. Who knows, I mean even manage to post more [...]
Toronto has a lot of dope artists maneuvering throughout it's streets. If you don't believe me, take a look at the recent Smash Brovaz tape, everything BADBADNOTGOOD has done, Times Neue Roman , and a whole lot more. The latest talent from the city comes by the way Wolves, made up of frequent collaborators Ghettosocks, Muneshine, Timbuktu D-Sisive and Bix. With Bix handling the production, the rest taking care of the rhymes, sprinkle in some Maestro and Adam Bomb... you really do got yourself a bomb in the form of a new single. While no word [...]

Over the course of The Herbaliser's 18-year history countless musical trends and fads have come and gone. Through many musical highs and a few personal lows (Wherry's wife was tragically died in a household accident in 2004 and he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's in 2009), core members Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba have stayed true to the jazz/rap/soul sound that's embedded in their collective psyche. After releasing 20082s acclaimed Same As It Never Was , Wherry and Teeba took a little extra time to craft their latest opus, There Were Seven , which they released on [...]
Last Wednesday, I experienced the funky sounds of Go Go Bizkitt! and The Phantom's Revenge at The Central SAPC in Santa Monica, CA. Both DJs were awesome with Go Go Bizkitt spinning that funky disco house vibes all night while The Phantom's Revenge played mostly disco house with some trap music and some electro vibes. One of my favorite [...]
![Muneshine – Bed Bugs (12″ Maxi-Single) [audio]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4616655_lg.jpg)
Bed Bugs is the follow-up to Muneshine’s critically acclaimed full-length album, There Is Only Today. It features production by elusive and prolific Canadian artist/producer, Moka Only and UK heavy-weights, The Herbaliser and SoundSci (Ollie Teeba of The Herbaliser and Jonny Cuba). It also features appearances by Moka Only, and long-time collaborator (and 1/2 of Twin Peaks), Ghettosocks. PreOrder: http://www.bluntedastronaut.co m/product/pre-order-muneshine- bed-bugs-12

Phew, damn! For explosive dance floor energy, you can always depend on UK producer Go Go Bizkitt! . I can't think of very many disco house producers that we encounter that can really channel that hip hop aggression and attitude into a peak hour weapon like Go Go does. We've seen him before teaming up with Shawn Elliot and this time he's collabing with Canadian emcee/producer Muneshine . When listening to the original, you can't really imagine club-tempo disco on the track, but this result is fantastic and you just gotta have it. [...]

Saw GWAR last night. So, I'm plenty inspired to post about fucking dance music— They executed a priest, Hitler, human Jesus, cyborg Jesus and ma boy B-Rak Obama. Shit is fucking hardcore. So fittingly, here's RAC's remix of Bonafied Lovin' : This is more fitting maybe—time of year and everything. Check this guy out. He's still pretty small and then later you can say you knew about him first which is the dream, isn't it? Lot's of Kavinsky/Danger influences in there. Real Hank style: [...]
Woah, almost had to rub my eyes before posting this since it seems like it has been so long. But Go Go Bizkitt! has just uploaded a brand-new disco edit!
Good news folks, I'm back! Well, kind of. Hopefully! And yes I was away for awhile and it is extremely hurtful that you did not notice. Oh well, I know the 8 faithful readers who also share a fondness for the very specific brand of Canadian hip hop that I usually post on will be happy to hear of my return. So let's celebrate with the video for Muneshine's awesome, Buckwild produced, banger Lower Level . I've gushed about this song previously , so I was happy to re-visit it via this crisp looking, parkour-featuring video. Plus, the [...]

Asian Elvis [the mixtape] by D-Sisive [aka Derek Christoff]

This album by local rapper, Muneshine dropped a while ago (end of May to be exact) but figured I should still share it now. Drop a note if you dig (or if you don't!) [ note : alt stream link at bandcamp just in case this soundcloud link goes down] [player via AUX-TV ]
I have been meaning to post about Muneshine's latest full-length effort There Is Only Today, and "Back To The Future" seemed to be the perfect excuse. Featuring ELMNT and Kydd, this track is modern day hip-hop jam with strong ties to the old-school underground. I am just getting around to listening to the album in its entirety, and I am actually quite impressed with Mune's evolution. With features from D-Sisive, Emilio Rojas, and other longtime collaborators, this album is refreshing yet incredibly familiar. Give "Back To The Future" a spin and let us know what you think.

Toronto based rapper Muneshine recently dropped his latest album, There is Only Today. The album features production from Muneshine himself on a few tracks as well as !llmind, M-Phazes and Buckwild to name a few. I've skimmed through the album and some of my early favourites include the only !llmind produced track 'There is Only

There Is Only Today by Muneshine

Hey there! You should read this original post on the hill by going here: Muneshine - There Is Only Today There's a lot to like about There Is Only Today , the new album from Toronto-based, Saskatoon-bred rapper/producer Muneshine, but I'll lead off by telling you what impressed me most. Muneshine is an established producer, providing beats for a number of MC's & groups from Canada and beyond (even producing the entirity of D-Sisive's Juno-nominated Jonestown 2), but I love that he's comfortable enough in his own MC-skin that he [...]
