Disney have put together a compilation album for the release of the next Muppets Movie. The compilation will feature an array of musical talent including previous friends of the Muppets, Weezer, Sondre Lerche, and My Morning Jacket . The latter of which we have for your listening pleasure today via Spin. They take on the song " Our World ," which first appeared in Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas. It includes Muppets-related covers by folks like Weezer (of course), Andrew Bird, Sondre Lerche, and My Morning Jacket, who take on "Our World," a song that first appeared in Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas back in 1977, a year that includes a whole lot of history. While Muppets: The Green Album , the accompanying compilation to this November's The Muppets film, isn't available till late August, one of the first gems from that star-studded record has surfaced. Tackling "Our World", from the 1977 Muppets Christmas special Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas , My Morning Jacket remake the song into a banjo-powered revival track, adding infinite layers to a ditty originally spun by a bunch of otters. Mastodon announced the follow-up album to 'Crack the Skye' will be called 'The Hunter.' To celebrate, the band have unearthed a rare track from the 'Crack the Skye' sessions called 'Deathbound.' The previously unreleased song is available today as a download via the 2011 Adult Swim Singles Program. The forthcoming album will feature covers of popular Muppets songs covered by bands such as My Morning Jacket , OK Go , and The Fray . The album is set for release this August.
