South Philly's The Bikery plays host to four adept noise rockers tonight, leading off with Point Breeze . These newly-minted, South Philly-based gents build traditional-sounding punk songs on a jangly, taut foundation, laden with circular riffs. As far as headlines go, this is about as confusing as they get, but there's really no other way to explain it. The video is impressive enough on its own, showing Terry Crews flexing different muscles to trigger different instruments. Joyous pop music, hey? There really is nothing like it. Say hello then to Boston's MVSCLES who have won our timid little hearts with their new track Sweet N Sour. Clocking-in at just over two-minutes, the track doesn't give itself much time to deliver its message, but my word it makes the most of it. Swooning vocals with the odd blast of distortion, riding high above the occasional blips and beeps that bubble along, creating a river-bed of sound for the the sweet but never saccharine lyrics to flow along in a lazy but wonderfully fresh way.
