Weird Al Gets Features In a New 5-Second Film

Cooking With Crazy!!!
One of my favorite YouTube channels right now is easily 5-Second Films . Thought there is a limit on time in the project's videos, there's no limit on hilarity. Was that corny enough? Music's greatest satirist, "Weird Al" Yankovic, was actually featured in the YouTube channel's latest episode. Yesssssssssssssssssssssss!

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant."

Okay, I am now looking forward to spring training. On February 19th, pitchers and catchers report, and opening day isn't all that far away. Last year my Red Sox shot themselves in the feet; I have higher hopes for this year. Someone has to win something. I have news. My trip to Ghana last year strengthened my love for that country. When I was leaving, I was upset that I had been there for only two weeks, and I swore I'd go back at least one more time. That one more time is in August. I am booked [...]

"Pro football is like nuclear warfare. There are no winners, only survivors."

It's a sunny but cold winter's day, typical for this time of year. From my den perch, I can see the brown leaves barely fluttering so the day is a calm one. My sister in Colorado got two feet of snow, and it was 3° last night. Compared to her, I live on a tropical island. The house feels warmer today. I know it's psychological as the temperature in the house doesn't fluctuate, but cloudy days make me feel colder. Super Bowl Sunday has finally arrived. Yesterday I saw more men than I've ever seen shopping at the [...]

Frontregen EP "That Dance"

"Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society."

It is so cold (how cold is it?) that my computer has been freezing on me, and the air turns blue when it does. It has been a struggle this morning to get up and running. Gracie is so used to me and my computer tirades that she slept through it all. Now the computer wants to turn itself off to update. I won't let it. I am in charge. So there, HAL. Winter has returned, and it really is cold. The temperature says 30°, but the weatherman said it feels more like 20°. It is, [...]

"It happen'd one Day about Noon going towards my Boat, I was exceedingly surpriz'd with the Print of a Man's naked Foot on the Shore."

If the groundhog lived in these parts, he wouldn't have seen his shadow today. He'd have seen a sky filled with light gray clouds which cast no shadow. From my window, it looks cold out, but it is 43°. I figure this sense of feeling cold has to do with the missing sun. When it shines, I have an illusion of warmth. In my garden, the shoots of the dafs are above the ground. I can even see some buds. Yesterday the local paper had a picture of croci (crocuses if you don't like the Latin [...]

"Mothers are the necessity of invention."

The day is warm by winter's usual standards. It's 49°, but there is a little breeze which makes the day feel colder. On days like today I'd love a jacket like the ones I had as a kid. With those, each sleeve had a jersey cuff inside which kept the wind at bay, and all the jackets had hoods attached. Nothing is worse than ears which are red and frozen. We always walked to school and never thought twice about the weather. Most families had only one car, and it left early to work with the dads. In [...]

Alesia – Free Mashups

"I guess God made Boston on a wet Sunday."

Today will be a short post as I have to go to Boston. In days of yore, I used to go to Boston fairly often and never minded the trip. I'd meet friends, see a play, go out to dinner or shop. Now that I have all the time in the world, I begrudge the trip. I'd much rather sit at home and travel the Cape roads. When I was a little kid, my mother didn't drive. If we wanted to go to Boston, it meant walking up town and picking up the bus to Sullivan Square. Once [...]

"In actual life I am a grumpy old bag."

The wind is blowing, and it's pouring rain. My computer decided it wanted to ignore me so it froze several times. I cursed each time and screamed in frustration once. I must scream a lot as Gracie never stirred from her nap. She just kept on snoring. Today I am grouchy and tired. My guess is the lack of sun is finally taking its toll. It's warm at 52° but what good is warm when it's so wet? I do love the rain, but I've had enough of it the last week. It rains the whole night or the whole [...]

" I don't make jokes. I just watch the government and report the facts."

A mighty rain fell all night and pounded the roof. It was a sweet sound to me, and I easily fell asleep. This morning when I went out to get the papers, I saw the snow was just about gone. Only a few small piles remain, and they won't last long. It will be 50° today. No sun again this morning, just a gray sky, but the sun will be by later. I'll be happy to see it after so long. The Bruins were at the White House yesterday to be feted by the President for winning the [...]

"If my mother put on a helmet and shoulder pads and a uniform that wasn't the same as the one I was wearing, I'd run over her if she was in my way. And I love my mother."

When I woke up, I thought it was raining. I could hear drops falling to the deck from the roof, but when I came downstairs, I saw it wasn't rain at all. It was the sound of snow melting from the eaves and the roof. It is 42° and will stay warm for the next few days. We are back in the middle of our strange winter. My headache is gone and my teeth have stopped aching. The Patriots' AFC game yesterday was the culprit which caused the pain. It was an amazing game, not a good game, [...]

"It looks like something out of Whittier's "Snowbound,"' Julia said. Julia could always think of things like that to say."

About 8 or 9 inches of snow fell yesterday. The stuff is pretty, no question about it, but pretty never lasts long enough. I got plowed out last night by my factotum but a bit more fell, mostly from the ocean effect. Because it was warmer earlier this morning, the new snow melted off the walkway, the car windshield and the roof. Icicles now hang off the roof edge. They look like teeth needing orthodontia. It's cold, only 31°, and the sky is gray cloudy. I'll watch the Pats play the Ravens this afternoon. If I had tickets [...]

Perfume Genius – "Hood" Video

Perfume Genius - 'Hood'
This one put a lump in my throat. I've given Perfume Genius a bit of a hard time in the past, referring to him as a "downer." Well, the truth is sometimes a downer. This piece is about the fear of giving yourself to another, but becoming so scared that you just give up. I was [...]

8yr Old Juliet- "My First Hardcore Song"

'My First Hardcore Song' by 8yr old Juliet
I don't know who this girl is or what Australian town she came from, but she's moshed her way into my heart with this one single song, "My First Hardcore Song." Hopefully, she'll be releasing more material soon.
