Our favourite Swiss post-rock band Must Have Been Tokyo are preparing the release of their new album. We don't know the name of it, we don't know when it will be out. All we know is that their preview clips for it are a bloody good teaser . The yet to be announced album will be out via Oh, Sister Records .
After a long time of single-man-blogging, guerolito's loneliness has come to an end. Finally he has found someone who fits in perfectly into guerolitomusic. Rees, who was running the great REES / INDIE MUSIC blog, is working for guerolitomusic from now on. The great thing about the Internet is running into new bands that you deem worthy of interest, and I was fortunate enough to find another of those bands. Must Have Been Tokyo is from abroad, of course, and yet they seem like they could fall perfectly in line with everything going along over on our shores. Der Müssiggang ist aller Laster Anfang. Frönen wir dem Müssiggang, denn dieser führt uns direkt zur neuen Must Have Been Tokyo-EP "Vice", englisch für Laster. Und die ist Laster und Tugend zugleich, weil satanisch gut. Must Have Been Manchester or Liverpool. Die Berner New-Wave/Post-Punk-Band Must Have Been Tokyo kommt namhaften musikalischen Vorfahren wie Joy Division oder Echo and The Bunnymen immer näher. Frönten sie mit ihrer Debüt-EP "Insects" noch extrem ansteckendem und tanzbarem Disco-Rock und ähnelten damit mehr oder weniger anderen zeitgenössischen Genre-Genossen wie Franz Ferdinand, so wirkt ihr Sound auf "Vice" düsterer [...]

Das Zürcher Electro-Clash-Label Alpinechic tauft heute Abend im Superzero die neue Gratis-Compilation iChic. Wenn Institutionen feiern, sollte man das entsprechend würdigen.
