MUTEMATH has always seemed like a little indie band that could, despite the fact they've been a major label product most of their career. Most of their music is just eclectic enough to be Top 40 unfriendly, yet just mainstream enough to rope in a Coldplay fan or two. The band is currently back and forth [...]
In war terminology, "armistice" refers to a time where the warring parties agree to stop fighting. When it comes to the title of Mute Math 's forthcoming studio album, the word is said to refer to the battles the band members fought to create something they were all proud of and the ultimate "cease fire" achieved when they learned how to work together during the almost two year long span it took to record the album - is anyone else wondering 2006's self-titled debut then? On August 18th, the New Orleans outfit will unveil the finished 12-track, [...]

I for one am very excited that the release date of Mute Math's forthcoming album, 'Armistice', has been revealed. The first time I saw Mute Math , I fell mildly in love, and they remain to this day, one of my favorite bands on planet earth. I picked up their self-titled debut album at their show back in 2006, and they have not released another full-length album since then. So needless to say, the anticipation has been building. Well, now myself (and undoubtedly hoards of other) only have to wait a couple more months [...]

When Mute Math premiered their song and video of "Typical" in 2007 I was blown away. It featured among other things the band doing their song backwards. It was their first video on YouTube and registered more than 100,000 views in less than four days . It took three weeks for Mute Math to learn their parts backwards. The single then jumped to #36 the first week of August 2007, a position it held for six weeks before it moved to a peak position to #35 on Mediabase Alternative chart. Later that year, the group was nominated for a [...]

There's no denying this is old news, as this single was on the Twilight soundtrack, but being the good, loyal Mute Math fan I am, I completely missed that they had a new EP that came out in March. I'm mainly posting this because I enjoy the song and am a huge fan of the band. And if most of you are like me, then you tend to have a hard time keeping up with a band that hasn't released any albums for three years. Regardless, Darren, their drummer, is from right here in Springfield, MO, so a lot of [...]

Well what did you think of their song tuned to that Twilight film ? Surely its is no traditional Mute Math song we became so accoustomed to listening to in the years leading up to their newest album (which has not yet been revealed). One thing is for sure is that when the video does justice to the group its worth a post here on MUF. The video features what Mute Math is best at: Energetice performances (and quite possibly travelling too ). Who says you can't perform in the back of a van? [...]
I've long been a fan of the Alternative group Mute Math (or MuteMath, I can never tell which), because their music is fast, exciting and interesting. The other day, the group released the video for their latest single, Spotlight , and like their last video, which was shot backwards, this one features the band rocking out to their latest song in the back of a moving van, sped up a bit, which gives the song a certain [...]
