The Stars, Night Falls Over Kortedalla, In Our Nature, etc etc etc) . Curios din fire cum sunt, nu m-am putut abtine sa nu trag cu ochiul la ceea ce ne astepta in noul an. =D Drept urmare, pana acum am numarat in jur de 50 de albume pentru care exista sanse foarte mari sa le ascultam in 2008, albume din care va voi prezenta pe cele pe [...]
Today (the day after the day after the day after the Winter Solstice, as pictured above) is my 1,001st post since starting this blog. In celebration of reaching the 1K mark, I have put together an utterly massive Mix Tape for you. Bandwidth, be damned! I speak without hyperbole when I say that life cannot get much better than it is right now. After a full day of work yesterday, a co-worker and I ducked into Red Lion for a bite to eat. We were first joined by her boyfriend, then later by Phoebe, Rebecca, Sari (plus a [...]

Holy shitbox! We just caught wind of this and we couldn't be more excited/saddened. Yeah, we know. Totally bipolar. Well, shit, it's because we won't be heading off to Spain any time soon, so, yeah. There you go. Tickets are up tomorrow. More info: Tomorrow, Friday 14th December 2007, Maraworld will put on sale the first 5.000 passes – at a reduced price – for the 14th edition of the FIB Heineken Festival due to take place on the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th July in the concert [...]

Until recently, the prospect of a new album by Irish sonic terrorists My Bloody Valentine was about as likely as Christian Slater and Robert Downey Jnr. opting for "a quiet night in". But, no, according to Kevin Shields, prime mover in MBV, a new album (already some 11 years in the works) is nearly finished and may be in the shops later this year. Well, I'll believe it when I see it. But what is incontrovertibly true is that they plan to play live in 2008, and have already sold out dates in Glasgow, Manchester and London. More dates have [...]

In the wake of My Bloody Valentine announcing their reunion and subsequent , sold-out-in-seconds mini-tour, every indie boy and girl is anticipating, what was once only a pipe dream, the follow up to their 1991 classic, Loveless . Until that day, let us indulge in Athens, Georgia's Japancakes' re-imagining of that shoegaze opus. Yes indeed, the band has recorded a cover version of the entire album. Less spacey, vocal-less and more orchestral, Japancakes bring the album back down-to-earth. It's obvious that the band took a tremendous amount of care while recording, and [...]

I recently got in touch with a few local blogger friends to help build a playlist for a little party we were putting together. Basically I asked them to send over a few tracks that always end up getting played at their parties, and to provide a bit of info about their picks and/or blog. Each one gave me some good stuff that is representative of the kinds of music that they're into, so if any of these tracks make your fingers snap then check out their site to hear more like it. [...]
Sorry I'm posting this so late in the day. I have a shitty cold, spent a lot of the day in traffic, and my roommate (whose computer I actually use because mine's so old I can't even use the internet on it) is also sick, so we're sharing today. Anyway, this week's mix is suitably bleak, except for one stretch in the second quarter where it stops being bleak briefly. Listen to it while you can, songs are only up for a week, buy the music legally if you like it, and so forth. On the bright [...]

My Bloody Valentine re-enter studio. Want to be just like Radiohead when they grow up. My Bloody Valentine - Blow a Wish After I am done a paper on conflict resolution in the midst of the war on terror, I will post my top 50 of 2007. I have something special planned. -jon
Teddys Cheer Club Genre: Rock / Indie / Rock From: LA, United States Let me make it clear before I start, Teddy's Cheer Club are not the US equivalent of the UK's Tufty Club or a weekly comedy spot in downtown New York. They are an LA based visceral noise pop (I'm [...]

Their initial reunion shock hype has died off a bit, so it's a good thing the band's taking it a step at a time, with new updates each week. Feels like a soap opera already. This week MY Bloody Valentine 's manager has announced the band intends to pull a Radiohead-wise stunt and release, their much awaited followup to the classic 1991 "Loveless," as a digital download. Don't expect a freebie though, according to manager Vinita Joshi, MBV will release the predicted 2008 release as digital download, but you'll have to pay for [...]

While all are a-twitter at the news of a My Bloody Valentine reunion , I'm not getting that excited yet. The first time I heard Loveless is one of those musical moments in my life that I will not ever forget, and the impact MBV had on me 16 years ago was monumental, and I for one would love to hear something new from them. Yet--and you'll have to agree with me on this--My Bloody Valentine are not the kind of band I can listen to every day. They're a boutique band [...]

After a long rumour and various statement about the reunion and new releases, now we can put a new smile again in our face and start gazing at our shoes, that the reunion shows are announced from the atpfestival.com/events/mbv/faq s.php here are some detail that we take from the website ATP Concerts are very proud to present my bloody valentine who will return to play in Summer 2008 across the UK. The band will take to three cities London, Manchester and Glasgow. The following three dates have been announced: Friday [...]

Yesterday the Irish quartet announced their much awaited (well 16 years i quite a lot) reunion tour, that is scheduled to take place this summer, starting from June 20. Sadly a lot of fans' surprise, the band only announced 3 gigs. Alas due to high demand, MY Bloody Valentine has come to its senses and has announced 4 more gigs, that oddly enough are scheduled in the same venues, as the original 3. Looks like I'm not the only one who hates packing ... Dates and venues after the jump. June 20: [...]

Anyone who keeps vaguely up to date with worldwide indie rock doings has probably heard by now, but if not, then here it is: My Bloody Valentine will play their first UK shows in 15 years next June. It doesn't really get more special or exciting than this; and so, just in case you've left your copy of Loveless at a friends house, or your mp3 player has broken down, here's a song to get you in the mood. As an added bonus excitement, here's a cover of the same song performed by Greg Dulli's Twilight Singers for [...]

Shit, I can't believe this is really happening. Read more over at Pitchfork , but here's the information that was posted on the official MBV website : "Sometimes" :: My Bloody Valentine ATP Concerts are very proud to present my bloody valentine who will return to play in Summer 2008 across the UK. The band will take to three cities London, Manchester and Glasgow. The following three dates have been announced: Friday 20th June – London – The Roundhouse Saturday [...]

MBV - Feed Me With Your Kiss (live) English cats. They get Verve shows, a nationalized health care system, and now...new My Bloody Valentine shows. Cunts. I am super psyched to watch them... on Youtube. Rough. Above is a taste of my favoritest track from them live. They're supposedly LOUD. Like sensory depravationesque loud. Anyways MBV supposedly has that new album coming out they have been promising for 15 years as well. Chinese hold your breath Democracy. Cheers.
