Two things really come to mind when I think about this show. First, it was pretty awesome and they were really good. Second, holy dear god it was loud. I would say that before this the regularly loudest band I have seen is Dinosaur Jr., but this was a different kind of loud. The Austin Chronicle recently published an interview with Kevin Shields , My Bloody Valentine's guitarist and rock's most reclusive perfectionist. No, wait. Shields denies being a perfectionist, saying he just knows "the difference between achieving what [he wants] to achieve and not achieving it." Shields reveals that much of the band's reclusiveness and lack of output has been financially-based.
