My Little Pony characters in perhaps the most perfectly synced cartoon x musical matchup you'll see all week as they recite Wu-Tang's "Shame On A N*gga." Don't believe? Peep the precision at the :28 mark as Ol' Pinkie Bastard rumbles "I'll f*ck yo' ass up" and the "Yo!" at the 1:47 point. Also featuring Methodshy and Applekwon.
Surprisingly, clips from My Little Pony go really well with Wu-Tang Clan's "Shame on a N--." [via toplessrobot ] Tweet

Toronto - Mylittlepony are a five piece band from Norway whose wonderful twee-like qualities makes them sound like one of those legendary Labrador bands that have been perfecting this craft for years and years. Originating from the beautiful (I am guessing) city of Oslo, mylittlepony has recently released their record Making Marks on their native soil. I have heard only a few tracks, but it has your classic twee music elements - toe tapping beats, pleasant melodies, strings, banjos, banjo, brass ... glockenspiel, all those instruments you think a band would be playing with a [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. Norway's mylittlepony used to be known as My Little Pony , but I guess that was a little too close to the bone for the Hasbro copyright police. The band recently released their second album, and from the bits of it that I've been able to hear, it's got some great little songs on it. One of them is Stories About Love , which the band have made the lovely video above for. I'm constantly fascinated by things like this, as the video is seemingly [...]

If you were a young girl in the 1980s, you most certainly know what a My Little Pony is, no doubt! I'm not sure exactly what kind of My Little Pony this is - but it's much smaller than a regular one - it could possibly be a baby pony. In any case, she sure is adorable!

Il disco si apre con A Miracle che nel ritornello esprime il pio desiderio: "if we could stop being cynical for just one moment of our lives". Dopo Think Too Much del [...]

Okay, so I may not be entirely sold on the entire name here, but at least the music is really good. It's one of the things I like a great deal about running this site: finding music I wouldn't have heard otherwise. This Oslo group are releasing their album Making Marks , which features the catchy little single we're offering up here. It's light-hearted and warm, but most of all its sugary sweet, which is precisely what I needed to hear this evening. And, the band apparently be making their way to Austin for SXSW, [...]

Tweet Breaking the silence with the first post of 2011, and it's a post that has forced it's way into the blog. I did not intend to start blogging so soon, and I am absolutely not sure if this will be a very active year for the blog, but I am considering many options. This post had to be written. It's about an amazing band and an amazing album, and the album is out today. Norway's My Little Pony is now called mylittlepony [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. Some indiepop goes to great lengths to disassociate itself from the seemingly dreaded "twee" tag. Then there is some that completely embrace it. Which would you expect a Norwegian band called My Little Pony to go for? If you're still not sure, a quick glance at the video above should answer the question. Balloons, animal costumes, party hats and dancing. What more could one possibly ask for? Myspace / Twitter [...]

Tweet Today is the start of an amazing yearly event in Norway called Alternativ Julekalender (which means "Alternative advent calendar"). It's a project which collects new christmas songs from lots of Norwegian alternative bands, and gives away one song every day in December via their website , their facebookpage and their mailinglist. The songs are usually as amazing as the project is, and I have collected my favourites from the last two years of Alternativ Julekalender here. All these, and [...]
Tweet "Hard To Be Good" is the new single from Norway's finest pop-band My Little Pony . The single will be released on October 4th on Spoon Train Audio . Their second album "Making Marks" will be released early next year. It is produced by Sjur Lyseid (The Little Hands of Asphalt, Monzano), who is responsible for more than the good sound on the album... [...]

HOME volume 1 is a new free download compilation put together by Johnno Casson (a.k.a. Snippet) , and it features 15 artists, most of them unknown to me before this (I've only heard 3 before, - My Little Pony , Snippet and Cleeman ). I must start this little blog-post by congratulating Snippet with a lovely and warm album, - I have really enjoyed this one! The music ranges from "quirky pop and folk flavours, from electronica to latin touches" (quote from the label). [...]

I wish for snow. Proper snow. Not that just that one day of snow we had last December. I wish it would snow for the Olympics. Traffic, tons of people...and snow. It would be fun ;) Here's the recap of last week's Lyrics of the Day - "You can make everything out of anything. And you don't believe in violence" Macgyver Blues by My Little Pony "Teach me to [...]

The Norwegian quartet Monzano have been one of my favourites for many years. They have been around for a very long time (almost 10 years now?), and I think my first listen to their music was in 2005, just before they released their first ep "The Window Was Open But The Smoke Wasn't Moving" . Their debut-album " High Horses & One Trick Ponies " was released in 2007, an album I gave full score in my review. Since then, vocalist and songwriter Sjur Lyseid has had some success with his more [...]

A quick one today as this weekend in general has been rather manic. I don't really know anything about My Little Pony beyond the fact they are an indiepop band from Norway that Last.fm keeps insisting I should like. Based on this little ball of awesome, I think they might be right. MP3 My Little Pony - Electric Christmas Website / Myspace / Twitter Related posts [...]
