My Morning Jacket have announced the launch of an intimate destination festival, One Big Holiday . Taking its name from the band's 2003 hit song, the four-day event will take place January 26th - 30th at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera in Maya, Mexico, and promises three full performances from the band, along with "an unexpected, off-the-hook dance party that promises plenty of surprises." Maybe they'll have some new songs to perform by then, too. Its always interesting to see seminal records get the official remix treatment where modern producers are given the master tapes and freedom to run wild. These projects typically end up in two categories: one filled with great tracks that subtly re-imagine the originals to highlight a unique instrument or groove, and one filled with train wrecks.
