It's Tuesday and that means a steady stream of new releases hit the market today. Even with some big names, the most exciting in this corner of the country are three tasty slabs of vinyl from New Scotland Records . The 45s may have all been recorded in the warming confines of Scotland Yard under Joel Plaskett's watchful eye/ear, but the end results couldn't be more different. Herohill favorite David Myles offers up a taste of the fantastic, honey coated sounds he and Plaskett produced on [...]

Myles and the Fuzz have hit the road today with the Sleepless Nights, bound for Ontario and the Pitter Patter festival. The festival founded by Keith Hamiliton [booker at the Boat in Toronto, a dj, leader of his band Hamilton Trading Co. - probably lots of other stuff I don't know about] has a pretty great vision that is hard to not get behind: The Pitter Patter Music Festival is based on a simple set of principals: Fair compensation to the artists Easy access for the patrons The need [...]

HEROHILL REVIEW herohill : "It's obvious the band has found their stride" herohill gave the 73 a great review ending on this note we agree the guys deserve: With more and more people embracing that grit of garage rock, Myles Deck and the Fuzz should be getting more attention and hopefully that will start soon. Visit herohill for their song by song take on Police Cops . THE MUSIC You can download the tracks individually below [all MP3s] [...]

myspace I'm halfway through a post highlighting the top artists to watch out for here on the East Coast, so get excited. In all seriousness though, with little to no fanfare, bands from the Maritimes are pumping out stellar release after stellar release and musically, I'd say these days are as good as almost any era I can remember (at least on par with Sloan , Super Friendz , Thrush Hermit and trailing only the dominance of the MC J and Cool G period). [...]

Myles Deck & the Fuzz combine a lot of elements that scare people. Crashing drums, bluesy bass lines and heavy metal guitar slides really make people who always thought listening to Sum 41 meant they were punk rawk a bit unsettled. Instead of useless tracks about not fitting in and simple three chord progressions, Myles and the rest of the Fuzz hit you in the teeth with raw, Stooges style songs and a swagger that lets you know they don't give a f@ck if you aren't into it. But the thing is, I [...]
