Christmas. If there's something that most of us can agree on about Christmas, it's the amount of Christmas music we don't wanna hear everywhere we go. I mean, you can't even go to the grocery store without your ears being accosted by Mariah Carey or Mannheim Steamroller 's awful, awful songs about ' the most wonderful time of the year '. And if there's one thing I've learned about Christmas music from the last 10 years, it's that ' whoaaaaa haaaa ehaaha ' is also a big part of Christmas music now... I believe that's also [...]

In 9th grade, DJ Dogwater let me borrow his Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan club CD. Though I lost the tape I made off it years ago, I still get those songs stuck in my head on a regular basis. A while back, I suggested a remix of the classic "Master Ninja Theme Song," not knowing what 56 seconds of hilarious brilliance would be sent my way. Thank you. It seems like we've patiently waited for this announcement since Shout! Factory picked up the rights to it earlier this year. But the wait is almost over! The cult tv show, Mystery Science Theater 3000 will get a DVD release on October 28th. The followed the plight of Joel (also the show's creator) a kidnapee by a mad scientist, who gets put in a space station and forced to watch terrible B-movies. To keep sane, Joel builds buddy robots out of random space parts to watch the movies with him, the robots act as [...]
Good news MST3K and Cinematic Titanic fans...a new episode [called The Wasp Woman ] comes out August 7th with plans for new episodes every six weeks. Here's the preview for the new episode:

I can't begin to express my disappointment upon discovering (a couple of days ago) that "wassail" was not an archaic spelling of "weasel," and that the act of going "a-wassailing" did not involve sneaking into chicken coops to steal eggs and/or the stray plump fowl while justifying the act with vague quantifiers. ("Many people agree that poultry theft is an acceptable means of spreading holiday cheer.") It does explain why my family got such a cold shoulder from our neighbors when I was growing up, however. Some folks just don't appreciate the true meaning of the season... [...]

Pre-Christmas preparations have got me swamped, but that isn't going to stop me from making a short post laden with holiday cheer and loads of ass kicking. I think Chris from the ISB has become a bad influence on me. You'll know I've gone past the point of no return when I do a theme week featuring songs about getting kicked in the face. Today's Theme Mix Friday post comes to you from my friend, Sarah , aka Beebles (that's her in the picture with her ADORABLE dog, Ruby ). I guess her mix doesn't really have a theme, other than it being full of songs that she loves and that she strongly urges you to download. Sarah and I both hope they make your Friday a little brighter. Dion & The Belmonts - Ruby Baby Roy Orbison - In Dreams Tom Waits - God's Away [...]
