Former Port O'Brien frontman Van Pierszalowski's latest project WATERS premiered their previously unreleased b-side "If Only" on Stereogum in both streaming and downloadable formats this past Monday. Another standout from the sessions for the band's debut LP Out In The Light , "If Only" is a fuzzy, frenetic, and catchy track that showcases Pierszalowski's songwriting talents. Take a listen here on The Bay Bridged: WATERS - "If Only" "If Only" is also available now on iTunes , and don't forget that WATERS [...]

St. Louis, for being a centrally located city with a variety of quality venues, gets the shaft on a number of solid tours. Bands go straight to Chicago for a few days, or they stick to the college towns such as Lawrence, KS or Columbia, MO. (At least we get Nelly for free next month, right?) The upside of this sad reality is that when a show such as Nada Surf and WATERS pops up at the Old Rock House for a random Monday in June, people will show up in droves ready for a good [...]

Three rock show in three days isn't a hard thing to do. It's an awesome thing to do. Yet, there was something about this particular Rock 'N' Roll weekend that kept me from the Little Bighorn LP release show on Saturday night. That something was late night tequila. It was a great idea at the time. And chasing that tequila down with Sirancha and pickle was a great idea, too. Unfortunately, it was also the idea that left me couch-bound for much of Saturday. Still, I have a lot to talk about from Nada [...]

Frank Yang When we left off yesterday , I was biking furiously across town to get from The Rivoli to The Phoenix for Archers Of Loaf . So why not roll this show into the festival coverage? Well, although some wristbands were granted admission and the premiere of the What Did You Expect? live Archers doc was one of the big gets of the NXNE film festival, this show wasn't technically part of the festival and I am, if nothing else, a stickler for these sorts of things. [...]
Here is a small collection of songs that The Orchard distributes, which you might have heard before in a movie, in a commercial, at a sporting event, online or even as someone's annoying ringtone that got stuck in your head. One or more of these may have you asking "where ...

Nada Surf recently released their first album in nearly four years (check out some of the tracks below) and they are playing at Headliners on June 24th. Last time they were in town, I think they played Jim Porters, so it will be nice to catch them at a decent venue. Filed under: Concerts and Tours , Exclusive , Call and Response Getty Images (2) This week, Nada Surf and WATERS are kicking off a tour that will take them around the U.S. Just before the trek, we recruited the band's respective frontmen -- Matthew Caws and Van Pierszalowski -- to do our jobs for us and interview each other. Caws was at home in Cambridge, England, taking time away from [...]

Last Year's Out In The Light from ex-Port O'Brien frontman Van Pierszalowski under his WATERS moniker was easily one of the more gratifying listens for us a MOKB. His straightforward brand of rock always seemed to hit the right spot no matter when we turned it on. Today, we get the melodic and jangly If Only that can be downloaded below. The track was produced during the same sessions as the songs from his debut and, up until now, was [...]

The single for Cinderpop' s newest album has been floating around for quite some time, but I hadn't really given it too much of a listen until I started spinning Manic Sparkles repeatedly on my player. It's an album that's chock-full of wonderful pop tunes that recall all sorts of influences, from the Lucksmiths to Sloan to Nada Surf . These are the sorts of influences that make me swoon, so I'm happy to have re-discovered the band and their classic pop sound. I [...]

All good news this week for pop rock 'n roll band Nada Surf , with the announcement of new U.S. tour dates throughout June before the band gets to go back to Europe in July. On the heels of Nada Surf's excellent recent LP " The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy " comes a new video for the great single 'Waiting for Something". [Why can't I hear THIS song on my local rock radio station??]. It's below, shot in the beautiful backdrop of Ibiza, Spain and produced by the band's bassist Daniel Lorca. [...]

How long has it been since we've last checked out Nada Surf ? The lead singer's hair is starting to look a little grey! Jason Arthurs We're still over a week out from the official Summer solstice, but Superchunk don't need no druidic approval to declare the season of sun and fun officially here. After following up 20102s Majesty Shredding with a series of reissues, they've just released a new 73 single for the song "This Summer" and if that wasn't enough seasonal thematicness for one release, the b-side is a cover of Bananarama's 1983 Summer anthem. The single is limited to an edition of 1300 pieces worldwide, pressed [...]
