Their roots may lie in indie rock but it was a mutual love for house and electroclash that convinced Dave Frecknall and Julianne Shawe to form Nakatomi Towers . Taking the best of both worlds, they create music that's pop-savvy and infectiously danceable. It's these qualities that have landed them support slots for the likes of Little Boots and the XX - which is no mean feat, especially when you consider they've only been together seven months. And in addition to their own songs, they keep themselves busy remixing tracks for other artists and taking their barnstorming DJ sets [...]

Belfast's most promising girl/boy electro-pop duo Nakatomi Towers have gifted us a sweet remix-heavy electro mix to share with you. It also serves as our first milestone being the 10th official State.ie mix since we started. As well as standing out for their catchy tunes like 'Cut Me Out', Dave and Julianne are also keen electro DJs playing the likes of the tunes from the mix below around Belfast regularly.

Once more, here is September's edition of the Music Alliance Pact . For those of you who don't know about MAP, it's a collection of music blogs from around the world who band together once a month to shed light on up-and-comers from their home countries. It's sort of like the WTO without the human rights violations. This month we've welcomed two new countries: Colombia and Turkey . This edition showcases 33 tracks from bands around the world. Once again I've gone ahead and highlighted some of [...]
