Arlissa 's late-2012 rise has been positively meteoric: some online hype, a song with Nas , some festivals, a Sound of 2013 longlisting, the world... I don't feel wholly convinced, though: sure, she has a fabulous voice, but so do 5,000 other singers up and down the country. The folks at YouTube channel Gods Connect have delivered the best thing you'll see all day/week/month/etc... And it's a supercut of everyone's favorite music journalist, aka Nardwuar the Human Serviette , and a slew of his guests doing (or attempting to do) his "Doot Doola Doot Doo" ending. As anyone who's seen one of his interviews knows full well, these segments don't always go that smoothly. Although, to be fair, it seems that more MCs have caught on to his goofball ways and stopped being assholes to him (read: Nas, Kid Cudi, Jay-Z). Watch the clip blow.
Nas stopped by Conan Thursday night (November 29) and performed the deadly serious Life Is Good track "World's An Addiction," with singer Anthony Hamilton on the hook. The track is weighty enough that it's easy to see how a performance of it could be leaden, but Nas was ferocious on stage. He let the song consume him, closing his eyes through most of his verses, in a performance that showed he's still one of the best in the game. [via Stereogum ]
